Alyssa Jade Vanderbeck, 19, and Mark Anthony Labaco Clamor, 21, were hit with second-degree murder charges, and Clamor with additional homicide abuse raps, for the death of their 7-week-old son earlier this month, according to court records obtained by People.

The couple allegedly waited an hour before calling 911 for their wounded infant on March 4, with Clamor telling a dispatcher that his son was not breathing, authorities wrote in the probable cause affidavit.
The child was brought to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma in critical condition with “subdural hemorrhages, anoxic brain injury, retinal hemorrhages, and possible healing rib fractures,” the court document states.
Doctors determined the baby — identified as “N.C.” in court records — was not expected to survive. His parents had gone home by the time cops showed up at the hospital a day later to investigate his injuries as possible child abuse, the affidavit states.

After the parents returned to the hospital, a cop “found their demeanor to be unusual considering the gravity of the suspected offense and the condition their child was in,” according to the filing.
Investigators also found TikTok video of Vanderbeck “slowly dancing in the bathroom of N.C.’s hospital room” to upbeat music that she posted to the platform on March 8, the report said.

The couple’s child died March 9, five days after he was taken to the hospital, and an autopsy ruled his preliminary cause of death as homicide due to abusive head trauma.

When police interviewed the couple, Clamor told them that on the morning of March 4, the baby had become increasingly fussy and started crying. He allegedly said he picked him up “somewhat forcefully,” saying, “Why you crying, boy?” while moving him in a jerking motion.

Clamor told investigators his son’s head “jerked back pretty hard,” and he later acknowledged he realized he had handled him roughly, according to the probable cause declaration.
Soon after the incident, Vanderbeck woke up, and she and her husband took a shower while their son slept. Once they got out, the couple noticed the baby appeared weak, making grunting sounds with irregular breathing. They allegedly said they panicked and shook him again.

Investigators say the couple took videos of their son, who was allegedly struggling to breathe and showing signs of serious distress, and sent them to friends and family, asking what they should do. About an hour passed before they called 911, according to investigators.
Detectives noted during interviews that Clamor was “emotional, tearful at times and appeared exhausted.” He said he was stressed due to “finances, housing, unemployment, and exhaustion from childcare.”
