A 4-year-old girl remained in critical condition Wednesday after her father allegedly battered her at their Thousand Oaks home Monday, according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

Prosecutors charged the girl's father, 25-year-old Tekquan Alexander, with multiple felonies, including assault on a child causing comatose condition or paralysis, aggravated mayhem, torture, child endangerment and various weapons offenses, according to Ventura County Superior Court records.

A request from the Ventura County District Attorney's Office to deny him bail was approved by Judge Rocky Baio during Wednesday's arraignment. Alexander's bail had initially been set at $500,000 after his arrest.

At around 11:40 a.m. Monday, sheriff's deputies responded to the scene of a medical emergency. The girl was found unconscious. Ventura County firefighters were performing CPR when deputies arrived and the child was being treated for what were described as "severe injuries" allegedly caused by physical child abuse, according to the sheriff's account. The girl was initially taken by ambulance to Los Robles Regional Medical Center.

Alexander was arrested at the scene. When detectives later conducted a warrant search of the home, they reportedly found an unsecured assault-style rifle and handgun in his bedroom. Alexander, a felon, is barred from having guns.

A Thousand Oaks man accused of putting his 4-year-old daughter in a coma received two Paycheck Protection Program loans totaling nearly $42,000 in 2021, according to Small Business Administration records.
The SBA now says Tekquan Alexander obtained those loans illegally, adding grand theft and fraud to a list of felonies the 25-year-old man is facing, according to a police report.
Public records show Alexander filed for two loans through PPP, which was intended to help businesses and people who are self-employed offset losses suffered as a result of coronavirus related restrictions. He was approved for $20,833 in April and another $20,833 in May.

Although PPP was intended to help employers retain employees, the loans were also available to sole proprietorships with a single employee, like independent contractors. Alexander listed himself as a barber; his jail intake form lists him as a rapper.

The accusation by the SBA against Alexander came days before the U.S. Secret Service announced it was investigating causes of fraudulent use of COVID-19 relief applications totaling nearly $100 billion.

So "rapping" four-year old children is a now profession?

A California man arrested three years ago for brutally beating his 4-year-old daughter was found guilty on Tuesday of torture, assault, and corporal injury to a child.
Tekquan Alexander, an aspiring rapper, was arrested in November 2021 after he repeatedly and violently abused his young daughter. After sustaining days of abuse at the hands of her father, the girl was unresponsive and airlifted to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles. She was diagnosed with “traumatic injuries to her brain and spine, as well as broken bones and dozens of cuts and bruises,” according to local news outlet KTLA. The “catastrophic” injuries left her in a “vegetative state,” according to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
In a statement after the verdict, Deputy District Attorney Rikole Kelly said that Alexander’s daughter “faces a future filled with unimaginable challenges due to the defendant’s reprehensible conduct, but today’s verdict holds him accountable and brings a measure of justice to her and to all those profoundly affected by this case.”
Court documents described how Alexander explained that his daughter was a “bed-wetter,” and that he would “[punish] her by making her do rigorous exercises with an element of physical abuse, including but not limited to hitting with boxing gloves, hitting her with a belt, and hitting her with speaker wire.”

A California dad who was convicted of torture after brutally beating his 4-year-old daughter was sentenced to life in prison.
Tekquan Alexander, 28, an aspiring rapper, was found guilty on Nov. 12 of torture, assault, and corporal injury to a child. As a result of the beatings, which took place in 2021, his daughter was left with several “catastrophic” injuries and in a “vegetative” state. The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office stated that Alexander punched his daughter and beat her with a belt and an amplifier cable after she wet the bed. At the time, he told the girl’s mother that she “passed out standing in time-out.”
Alexander will be eligible for parole. The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office confirmed the sentencing on Dec. 13, which they noted was also the little girl’s birthday. Deputy District Attorney Rikole Kelly, who prosecuted the case, said in a news release that “while no punishment can undo the lifetime of challenges she will face, her family knowing her perpetrator could spend his life behind bars is a small gift of justice.”
The release also stated that the victim is still paralyzed and in a vegetative state, and she continues to require round-the-clock medical care.

How the hell could this man even be eligible for parole - I doubt he will be released on his first few attempts but stop saying a life sentence when in actuality it is not.
