An international manhunt is on after investigators say a 2-year old girl was murdered Sunday in Harrison County. Investigators are trying to find the boyfriend of the girl's mother, 27-year-old Jose Luis Casiano-Aburto.

Investigators say the girl's mother, Felipa Dominguez, took her to the emergency room because she was unconscious. Doctors were unable to revive Jimenez.

"A preliminary autopsy done yesterday indicated the child had died from blunt force trauma to the abdomen,"

Family members told investigators Dominguez's boyfriend, Jose Luis Casiano-Aburto, had hit the little girl at their home on Liberty Church Road.

"[He] had allegedly struck the child in the stomach with his fist," Webb said.

Investigators tried to talk to Casiano-Aburto. Monday afternoon, the day after the murder, they say he fled to Mexico. Now investigators in Harrison County are working with U.S. Marshals, Homeland Security, U.S. border patrol agents and law enforcement agencies in Mexico, to find their man.

"We do know an address in Mexico where he had lived previously, and those authorities in that area have been notified and are seeking him," Webb said.

The Harrison County District Attorney has issued a capital murder warrant for Casiano-Aburto's arrest. Investigators are working closely with the family to find him.

"Once he is located in Mexico he will be detained and there will be an extradition hearing with Mexican authorities, with his attorneys from Mexico and that negotiation will then take place to get him back into the United States,"

According to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office, 28-year-old Jose Luis Casiano-Aburto was arrested Monday by authorities in Mexico.

The warrant for his arrest was soon delivered to the U.S. Marshall's Office, where negotiations were made with the U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security and Mexican government authorities.

Aburto will be handed over to the U.S. Marshall's Office and returned to Harrison County within a few days where he will be held pending trial. His original bond was set at $1 million, but due to circumstances, that number may increase.

The toddler's younger sister has been removed from her mother's custody and placed with her father.
