Sheffield Village police say a woman was shot to death in the parking lot of the McDonald’s location just before 10 a.m.
The suspect, identified as James Kimbrough, is still on the run, according to Sheffield Village police.
Lt. Aaron Bober told 19 News that the suspect is the father of a child with the victim and was waiting for her in the parking lot as she came out of the restaurant for her break.
“We know he was waiting and when she was in the vehicle there was a conversation between the two of them and it ended badly, he presented a firearm and shot her,” Lt. Bober said.
Officers arrived and found the 24-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She eventually was pronounced dead from her injuries.
24-year-old Milenna Eileen was the mother of four children, two of those children are with Kimbrough, according to her family.
According to investigators, the victim had filed a protection order against Kimbrough.
“Yes, there was a court ordered temporary protection order between the two of them and he had made threats to the family,” Lt. Bober said.
Kimbrough also has outstanding warrants that are unrelated to the investigation.
