"A man is in custody in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a resident at a retirement community in Glendale. Isaiah Roberts, 26, was booked on sex crimes and other charges.
Glendale police were called to the Kachina Place apartment complex, near 67th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, in the early morning hours of Friday, Jan. 12. They reportedly arrived to find Roberts “cursing and banging on doors” and detained him before speaking with residents.
One victim told officers he woke up to a man standing over him whom he didn’t know. The victim said he asked the other man what he was doing in his apartment and that he replied with a vulgar statement, indicating that he was going to rape him. The man said he told the suspect to leave before a struggle ensued.
According to court documents, the victim said he was then sexually assaulted for at least an hour and that the suspect punched him repeatedly in the head when he tried to open the front door to call for help. He told police the suspect eventually left and that he soon heard another scream coming from a nearby apartment."
"Following Roberts’ arrest, he was interviewed by detectives. Per documents, he told investigators that he had been at a friend’s apartment celebrating his birthday. Records show Roberts turned 26 on Jan. 12. That friend’s apartment complex is located at 64th Drive and Rose Lane and shares a wall with Kachina Place.
He then reportedly told detectives that when he drinks, “he has a tendency to just walk away from wherever he is.” He also said he didn’t know why his sweatpants were ripped. Roberts, who has prior convictions for burglary, theft and robbery, was booked on new charges, including sex crimes, kidnapping, criminal trespass, assault and probation violation."
26 years old, and these kind of crimes, that type of rage? He needs to be kept away from the rest of us.
