A Danville woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with third-degree rape.

Ellen Shell, 38, is accused of having “sexual intercourse on three occasions with two 16-year-old boys,” according to a criminal complaint filed in the case. The complaint states the alleged incidents happened between July 6 and August 15 of last year.

Shell reportedly works as a teacher’s aide at Woodlawn Elementary School in Danville. Before that, she worked at Lancaster Elementary School in Garrard County.

LEX 18 reached out to Boyle County Schools for comment, but a spokeswoman for the district did not return our call.

I wonder how this played out logistically. Did she rape the one kid and then word got out for the second kid to come around looking for some? Did the two boys know the situation and both decided to get involved? Did the interactions come to light because one of them thought he was the only one getting her? Arkansas educator Heather Hare, 32, was expected to turn herself in Friday for an alleged sexual relationship with a teen student and is now facing a first-degree felony assault rap, the Arkansas Times reported.

Oklahoma teacher Emily Hancock, 26, was also arrested Thursday after local police were tipped off to her alleged relationship with a student.

A former substitute with Wellston Public Schools, Hancock allegedly began communicating with the teen last October and eventually began sending the 15-year-old nude photos, according to KOCO. The pair eventually had illicit relations on school property, the outlet reported.

Kristen Gantt, 36, an English teacher at a Catholic high school in Des Moines, Iowa, was added to the tally Friday for allegedly having sex with a teen student five times inside and outside her school, according to local reports.

Investigators said Gantt groomed the student over social media — and that surveillance cameras caught them going into a classroom alone with a papered over window.

She has since been fired by the school and will now answer to felony counts of sexual exploitation.

In Virginia, Allieh Kheradmand, 33, a teacher at James Madison High School, was also nabbed for allegedly sex with a student over the course of several months, according to FFXNow.

A learning disabilities teacher with Fairfax County Schools since 2016, Kheradmand has been charged with four counts of indecent liberties and is being held without bond.

Hannah Marth, 26, was arrested after police learned she had engaged in a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old Northampton Area High School track and field athlete, prosecutors allege.

The 26-year-old sent the teen a text in May 2021 and invited him to her home, where the two allegedly had sex, the Northampton district attorney said in a news release.

A former Kentucky teacher aide admitted that she had sex with “numerous” teenage boys while working at an elementary school, officials said.

Ellen Phillips, 38, pleaded guilty in federal court in Lexington on Friday to attempted online enticement of a minor to engage in sexual conduct, prosecutors in the Eastern District of Kentucky announced.

Her victims were boys between the ages of 14 and 16 from Boyle and Garrard Counties— and she would sometimes have sex with multiple boys at the same time, according to the plea agreement.

She is facing a maximum sentence of life in prison.

As part of her plea deal, Phillips, who formerly went by Ellen Shell, admitted specifically to trying to convince a 15-year-old boy to sneak out of his house to meet up for sex on Dec. 22, 2022.

She messaged the victim on Facebook and repeatedly tried to get him out of his house, prosecutors said.

When the boy told her that he could not leave, she offered him alcohol and oral sex if he could sneak out.

Phillips, of Danville, even offered him excuses that he could tell his mother as to why he had to leave the house, prosecutors said. He ultimately did not meet up with the teacher aide that night.

She would communicate with her other victims through Snapchat, Facebook and text messages to meet up with them for sex.

One of the victims’ mothers, who wished to remain anonymous, told FOX 56 that she went to high school with Phillips and that their children grew up together.

“These boys are not aware of the laws that protect them and would not come forward because they thought they would be in trouble,” the distressed mom said.

Her son told her that “she brought them alcohol 3 to 4 times. I can’t wrap my mind around the extent of what she’s done,” she added.

State prosecutors will consider dropping charges as a result of Phillips federal guilty plea.

She now potentially faces life behind bars after pleading guilty Monday to transporting a minor across state lines for unlawful sexual activity, prosecutors said.


The once-beloved teacher was arrested last April when a 17-year-old student came forward to report her repeated abuse, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette also reported.


The boy — identified only as “J.R.” — told police that he met Hare on the first day of his senior year at Bryant High School in the fall of 2021, Assistant US Attorney John Ray White told the court hearing.


“Hare began one-on-one counseling sessions with the minor victim, eventually giving him her personal phone number and primarily communicating with him through Instagram and Snapchat,” the prosecutor’s office said.


“At one point, Ms. Hare told J.R. that she had a dream of them having sex,” White said.


“The minor victim and Hare had sex approximately 20 to 30 times throughout the 2021-2022 school term, including multiple times at her Conway residence, in her vehicle, and in her classroom and parking lots at Bryant High School.”

Heather Hare, 33, of Conway, was sentenced to serve the next 13 years in federal prison for transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of unlawful sexual activity. Hare was sentenced earlier today by United States District Judge Lee P. Rudofsky.

The investigation into Hare revealed that Hare taught Family Consumer Science classes at Bryant High School and met the minor victim on their first day of their senior year. Hare began one-on-one counseling sessions with the minor victim, eventually giving them her personal phone number and primarily communicating with them through Instagram and Snapchat.

Hare later told the minor victim that she had a dream of them having sex and gave the victim her home address in Conway. The minor victim and Hare engaged in sexual activity between 20 to 30 times throughout the 2021-2022 school term, including multiple times at her Conway residence, in her vehicle, and in her classroom and parking lots at Bryant High School.

Between April 21 and April 24, 2022, Hare was the sponsor and chaperone for a field trip to Washington, D.C., as part of an extracurricular activity related to the Family Consumer Science courses Hare taught. During the field trip, Hare and the minor victim engaged in the unlawful sexual activity to which she pleaded guilty.

Hare was indicted on August 1, 2023, and charged with one count of interstate/foreign travel for prostitution/sexual activity by coercion and one count of transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. In exchange for her guilty plea, the remaining charge was dismissed.

Judge Rudofsky also sentenced Hare to serve a lifetime of supervised release. Hare faced a maximum sentence of not less than 10 years imprisonment and up to life imprisonment, and not less than five years of supervised release for transportation of a minor to engage in unlawful sexual activity.

“Teachers who have sex with their minor students should take note of today’s sentence for Ms. Hare which reflects the consequences of abusing her position of trust and taking advantage of the vulnerability of this minor to repeatedly engage in unlawful sexual activity,” Ross said. “Our office will continue to hold accountable those who are in a position of trust that target children and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law, as evidenced by Judge Rudofsky sentencing Ms. Hare to 13 years in federal prison.”

I also remember the women sure had a lot to say about 3yrs later when a few of the guys were messing around with a babysitter who was 15 or 16. 2 of the guys had wives and children so there was that issue, the girl was viewed as a slut who had to stay away from their own husbands. There was a bit of an issue with her age which had me pointing out the contradiction. None of them had an issue with age when their friend did whatever with a boy in his teens. But it's a bit creepy that some male friends were attracted to a girl in her teens. But that was women talk. The men didn't have an issue either way, so long as it wasn't their daughters.

Ran into the boy a few times and he found me on Facebook. As a man he took full custody of his 2 young sons during a divorce, already had full custody of his oldest, and raised them by himself. He didn't bail out on his kids. Works, pays bills, adulting stuff.

An Oklahoma mayor’s daughter who is also the wife of the town’s police chief was found guilty on Wednesday of soliciting sex from a 15-year-old student she taught.

Emma Delaney Hancock, 28, will spend the next four years in prison for two counts of soliciting sex with a minor through the use of technology, KFOR reported.

Hancock, a former substitute teacher in Wellston, began talking to the then 15-year-old boy on Oct. 6, 2022, after the student put his number into her phone in the preface of needing help with an assignment.

Hancock will have to register as a sex offender.

Ellen Phillips, 38, of Danville, formerly known as Ellen Shell, was sentenced April 26 to 188 months in prison by Chief U.S. District Judge Danny Reeves.

Phillips, who was employed as a teacher’s aide at the time of her offenses, was conducting sexual relationships with numerous teenage boys in the Boyle and Garrard County areas. Phillips communicated with the victims via Snapchat, Facebook or text messaging, and in many instances, she met them for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity. According to Phillips’ plea, she engaged in sexual activity with multiple minors at the same time.

In her plea agreement, Phillips specifically admitted that on Dec. 20, 2022, she attempted to entice a 15-year-old minor to engage in sexual activity. In this conversation, Phillips messaged the victim using Facebook and repeatedly attempted to get the victim to sneak out of his house for sexual activity. When the victim said he could not leave, Phillips offered alcohol and oral sex to the minor and offered excuses the victim could tell his mother as to why he needed to leave his home.

Under federal law, Phillips must serve 85% of her prison sentence. Upon her release from prison, she will be under U.S. Probation Office supervision for life.

A former Dowling Catholic High School teacher was sentenced to two years in prison for an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student.

According to court documents, Kristen Gantt, 36, kissed “a student for the purpose of (her) sexual arousal,” while she “was a school employee and licensed teacher.” Gantt was an English teacher at the time.

A criminal complaint said Gantt admitted to police that she engaged in a romantic relationship with the student that involved physical intimacy on at least five occasions. Each of the physical encounters occurred in Gantt's classroom after the school day had ended, according to the complaint.

As part of the plea agreement, the court issued a no-contact order with the victim that will remain in effect until Feb. 28, 2029.

Gantt also is required to register as a sex offender and was ordered to submit a DNA sample to law enforcement.
