Two people are wanted by police after shooting and killing a dog over the weekend.

According to Lakewood Police, the shooting happened around 7 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of West 12th Avenue and Teller Street, where officers found the dead dog. Witnesses said they saw a man hold the dog down while a woman he was with shot it.

According to witnesses, the pair was in a silver Chrysler 300 and appeared to be arguing before killing the dog. The couple left the dog at the scene and left in the car, police said.

The female is described as white or Hispanic with blonde hair. She was wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt and bluejeans. The man is described as white or Hispanic with dark hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, bluejeans and white shoes. Police described the dog as a female pit bull mix. It did not have tags or a microchip.

Lakewood Police released video of the man and woman involved. and a still image that appears to show the man holding the dog down while the woman holds a gun.

He says the video from a neighbor’s security camera shows the dog, a female pit-bull mix, getting out of the car and at some point shows the man struggling with the animal in the street before the woman in the car walks up with a gun and fires.

“Residents in the area were reporting three or four gunshots that they heard,” Osckel said.

The man and woman suspected of fatally shooting a dog in Lakewood earlier this month have been arrested and charged, police said.

Sean Andrews, 42, and Desiree Andrews, 40, were arrested, the couple is from Arvada, police said.

Sean has been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.

Desiree was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and violation of bond conditions.

The dog was shot and killed around 7 a.m. on Aug. 1 at the intersection of West 12th Avenue and Teller Street.

Police described the dog as a female pit bull mix. It did not have tags or a microchip.
