A teenager is facing charges for a would-be armed home invasion robbery in Florida in which his two accomplices were shot and killed and he was wounded.

Jeremiah Trammel, 19, was shot after his accomplices, Luis Casado, 21, and Khyle Durham, 21, had already been shot dead during the alleged break-in.

The person who shot the two men was the homeowner who was using a gun to defend himself in Wesley Chapel, near Tampa.

Casado and Durham were shot dead as they were walking along a narrow hallway towards the owner of the house.

Both had their faces covered with black masks and had guns drawn according to Fox35.

According to Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco, Trammel was then able to make a quick escape from the home after the homeowner's gun suddenly jammed allowing for a pause in the shooting.

Trammel was caught by a next door neighbor who also had a gun and held him on the spot until the police arrived.

He was taken to hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound.

Casado and Durham were 'extremely violent' criminals, according to Sheriff Nocco, while Trammel had a previous arrest for other charges.

The homeowner who was alone at the time and playing video games realized something was amiss after hearing glass smash.

He grabbed his gun and went to investigate.

The sheriff believes that the owner may have been targeted because he had recently posted pictures of a large gun collection he owned on social media.

Further investigation revealed Trammel, Casado and Durham knew the homeowner personally and he knew them, although no more details were revealed.

Trammel has been charged with home invasion robbery but also faces the murder charges for the deaths of Casado and Durham.

Clean and oil your guns regularly and thoroughly.
That way mishaps like this where one perp gets away alive won't happen.
A jammed gun is heartbreaking when used to take out the trash, but can't do it.

Those lives don't matter.
They did it to themselves.

Lots of new gun owners lately, and many don't realize that a semiautomatic pistol needs to be "run in" and tested with the carry ammunition before it's relied on. The third guy ran away this time. Next time, though, he might not.

That's what I like about revolvers, tried and true, and have never jammed on me.
I have had a revolver jam on me. The firing pin was too short, and the dent in the primer would pop back out and go through the firing pin hole in the recoil shield. It took a new firing pin to fix.

Revolvers need to be tested too.

As a leftie, I absolutely love the wheel guns! I have a Smith and Wesson model 64 38 Special! The gun was made in 1970 and it still works like a dream!

And yes, folks, if you are going to trust a gun to save your life, then you must go to the range and practice with your gun and also maintain them regularly! Also have a variety of firearms for carry and for home defense.

Also, many guns require a rigid forearm and wrist grip as the slide functions with a blowback action. Without holding the gun with sufficient resistance to bounce the slide back into position, the slide will *partially* return and will not have enough energy to fully strip off the next round from the magazine and feed it into the chamber. You end up with a stovepiped cartridge and the gun jams.

Any firearm needs to be.

I like this neighborhood.

Ammo preference on semi-autos is real.

So is this. I've seen more than one noob think the firearm was defective when it was their grip. Especially on snappy shit like compact .40s.
