Authorities say Northern York County babysitter is facing child endangerment charges after two children in her care were found swimming in a farm pond.

Northern York County Regional Police say they investigated a child endangerment case on Sunday, April 5 just before noon in Manhiem Township.

A property owner told police that two young children were swimming in a pond on his farm, which is surrounded by a fenced-in pasture.
Police say the children were wearing bathing suits and that it was 55 degrees outside when they were in the water. The property owner had the children leave his land.

Authorities later located the children, ages 6 and 9, in good health at home in the 5300 block of Blue Hill Road.

According to police, the only adult home at the time was 19-year-old Savannah Peterson, who told officers she was currently responsible for the children while their grandfather was not at home.

Peterson told police she had 'no idea' that the children had left the house.

While speaking with Peterson, police say they noticed signs of intoxication and she was taken into custody.

Peterson's bail was set at $5,000.

So a 6yo and 9yyo changed their clothes put on bathing suits went to the neighbor's pond, while it's 55 degrees no less, went swimming, got chased away, went back home, changed out of their wet clothes and the drunk 19yo babysitter never missed them?

Wow she couldn't have fucked up much more if she'd been trying.

I swam naked in the mill pond when I was in grade school. My freinds did the same. We also ran around the block naked after the adults were asleep. Kids will be kids.
