Delaware authorities are asking the public’s assistance in identifying a toddler girl found so decomposed they used facial reconstruction technology to reveal what she may have looked like.

Delaware’s Smyrna Police Department reports that the child has likely been deceased for at least several weeks, possibly longer. Authorities found the unidentified girl close to the Little Lass Fields near Smyrna Middle School on September 13, after someone walking a dog spotted the remains.

“There is some evidence of a fire at or near the crime scene which is why we have involved the State Fire Marshal’s office in our investigation,” Cpl. Brian M. Donner with the Smryna Police Department told Delaware Online.
