Philadelphia Police are investigating a gruesome discovery in the Frankford section of the city. They say the body of a woman was found in a trash can.
Police have not released the name of the woman found but family members have come forward and identified the woman as 36-year-old, mother of four, Kioma Diehl.
Now the question is how did she die and end up stuffed inside a trash can.
Police say an employee with Republic Trash Services actually made the discovery Wednesday morning. That employee was on his route when he spotted the woman’s body and alerted police, as well as his supervisors.
The body was wrapped in plastic and was placed inside a plastic bag. Family members tell Eyewitness News the body was beyond recognition with several bruises to the face. But that is now how they want Diehl to be remembered.
“Nobody deserves to be found like that. She suffered and that bothers me,” Kioma’s daughter, Kiani Diehl, said. “I can’t sleep, can’t stop thinking about her. I just miss my mom.”
