Why was her mouth so damn rotten?

A Minnesota woman is suing her dentist, claiming he left her disfigured and in distress after he performed too many procedures in just one visit and falsified how much anesthesia he gave her.
Kathleen Wilson alleges in her civil suit filed Thursday in Hennepin County District Court that Dr. Kevin Molldrem conducted eight dental crowns, four root canals and 20 fillings in a five-and-a-half-hour span in July 2020.

As a result, Wilson was left in pain, embarrassed, disfigured and distressed and had to have multiple other appointments with other dentists to fix Molldrem’s alleged mess, according to an affidavit obtained by the Star Tribune.

She further claims that Molldrem overused anesthesia and faked her medical records to avoid liability.
Her suit — which is seeking at least $50,000 in damages — has already received the backing of an expert Florida dentist.
Dr. Avrum Goldstein acknowledged that Mollgrem was correct in his diagnosis on July 7, 2020, that “virtually every tooth” in Wilson’s mouth had decay, but his treatment the following week was poor.

“Katie required a slow, thoughtful, careful and measured response to her disease,” Goldstein wrote in a Nov. 14 report.

“Trying to fill every hole in every tooth in her mouth in one visit is not only the antithesis of what was indicated, it is not humanely possible to achieve in an effective or constructive manner.”

@Sugar Cookie - Some people have rotten teeth no matter how hard they work to try and save them. For me it's one of the potential side effects of Juvenile Pernicious Anemia. (Yay?) You have no idea how frustrating it is to hear "You have beautiful dental hygiene, it's not your fault!" Um yeah, I know, I'm the one doing all of the work to sport these less than perfect teeth! :bigtears:

"all of Wilson’s teeth eventually need to be removed or replaced with implants, Goldstein said “all of the work that was done and all of the expense associated with it will have been for nothing.”

Ouch! Sounds extremely painful, hope she gets justice but also the the dentist is held accountable. Hope he doesn't just move to a new state.

A lot of people fear the pain of full mouth extractions. Mine started literally falling out as a complication of my blood circulation issue. I was terrified and wanted full anesthesia, but I was talked down by the young but talented dentist when the one who could do the anesthesia wasn’t available. Best decision I could’ve made, because the anesthesia makes me so dizzy and nauseous. The young dentist did such a good job numbing me that the only pain I felt was from the needle pricks. My gums were numb until around 7pm after having it done around 11 am. I was so happy, especially since they sent me home in “training” dentures (my terminology). Those protected the tender sockets and I had very little pain or discomfort.

if anyone needs to be “talked down” , just message me. Let’s not forget my neighbor’s brother who became paralyzed after the tooth bacteria got into his bloodstream and spinal fluid.

I had a pipe go thru the left side of my face when I was young. The teeth on my upper left side are held in place on a chain, there's plates to reconstruct my face. I've had issues ever since with those teeth. Just recently I had to have 2 of the crowns removed to be replaced. Hearing the dentist cut, grind and crush the old crowns to remove gives me nightmares. In 2 weeks I get the new caps installed. Amazing how they can get a 3D picture and some lab, far away prints them out now, instead of the molds is impressive. I'll have to deal with, and live with bad teeth for the rest of my life, not something anyone asks for.

I ended up looking into Dental Implants in Eastlake Ohio, and honestly, it was a game changer. It’s crazy how much more confident I feel now. I just wish more people understood that it’s not always about how well you take care of them. Some of us just got dealt a rough hand!
You're right. I took amazing care of my teeth out of fear because the women on my moms side are "cursed" as they joke - grandma, mom, my sister and two female cousins all lost their teeth before 30. We all just have extensive issues.
Still, mine are a mess. I have finally decided to have them all pulled because the dentist told me that I would just be wasting money. I've already tossed away way too much. Some of my teeth literally crumble seemingly out of nowhere. One of the meds I'm on don't help either.
But people just think you're gross and have poor dental hygiene or are on meth.

What is the deal with these new members who post, then reply to themselves in a new post, always with a hyperlink to something they're trying to sell or advertise?

Is this like a new bot? This is the third or fourth one of these I've seen in recent posts. Freaking weird.

Report 'em. If I know about them they will be gone in short order.
