Officers responded to a drunk driver call while officers were taking Shana Woodring to jail, she mentioned her children.
Police went to her home to make sure the children were OK and with an adult. When they got to the house, officers said they could see a 2-year-old screaming and crying in a crib.
The officer opened the unlocked door, announced himself, but no one answered. He also found a baby laying on a bed inside the house.
TPD said the conditions of the home were "deplorable" and the only food items were hot dogs and milk.
Woodring said she also left a 3-year-old in the house, but police did not find a third child. They were able to contact the child's father and learned he had the missing child.
All three children were taken into DHS custody.
