Woman Arrested, Charged With Murder In Death Of Animal Control Officer

"Michele Anne Dropulich, 47, was arraigned on charges of Homicide/Murder Second Degree, Operating while Intoxicated Causing Death and Reckless Driving Causing Death.

Dropulich was arrested Friday and is being held at the Monroe County Jail.

Monroe County Animal Control Officer Darrian Young, 24, of Deerfield was killed on Thursday June 4, when her patrol vehicle was struck at the intersection of M-50 and Rainsville Road.

Michigan State Police said Dropulich was driving at a high rate of speed and ran the red light at the intersection, leaving Officer Young on life support. Young passed away the following day."
