Willis Joe Lambert was jailed Wednesday in connection with the death of his 6-month-old daughter just 14 months after being paroled in a child abuse conviction.

Rachel Michelle Lambert died Tuesday morning at an Oklahoma City hospital after Willis Lambert called 911 to say she wasn’t breathing, police said. A spokeswoman for the state medical examiner said Rachel’s death was ruled a homicide caused by whiplash, also known as shaken baby syndrome.

Investigators interviewed Lambert, 37, of Choctaw at police headquarters Wednesday and booked him into the Oklahoma County jail on a murder complaint, police said. He remained jailed Wednesday without bail.

Lambert pleaded guilty 10 years ago in Oklahoma County to abusing his then-2-month-old son, Isaac Arnold Lambert. He began serving a 20-year prison term in May 1999 and was paroled in April 2008. Lambert admitted using "unreasonable forceâ€￾ on his son, who had bruising around his eyes, a broken collarbone and a broken leg.

He told police he put Rachel in a bassinet in her home at 2416 SE 51, about 9:30 p.m. Monday and called 911 about seven hours later when he got up and noticed she was "very still,â€￾ according to a police report.

Rachel’s mother, who lives in the house on SE 51, told police she and Lambert had been dating about 12 years and planned to marry next week.

Police said two other children were removed from the home.

Two siblings whose 6-month-old sister died from shaken baby syndrome told Department of Human Services investigators the baby’s father had been learning how to hold her.

Willis Joey Lambert Jr., 37, and Latrice Sharron Russell, 34, are charged with first-degree murder in connection with the June 9 death of their daughter, Rachel Lambert, at an Oklahoma City hospital.

Lambert confessed to fatally shaking his daughter at their Oklahoma City home because he couldn’t get the infant dressed after a bath, police said. Russell was charged with failing to protect the infant from a known child abuser. An autopsy report showed the baby died of a brain injury and had suffered five broken ribs earlier.

The two siblings, ages 13 and 11, are Russell’s children. Lambert, the father of the 11-year-old boy, went to prison in 1999 for abusing him.

The state Commission on Children and Youth’s Office of Juvenile System Oversight released the report last week.

The surviving siblings told investigators Lambert was learning how to be appropriate with Rachel, according to the report. Lambert would sometimes get nervous when holding the baby and would get mad or frustrated because he did not know how to hold her correctly, the children told investigators.

The children also said Russell would give them "whooping(s)” and Lambert would give "whooping(s)” to the 11-year-old, the report states.

According to the affidavit, her family was against the relationship and her having another baby with the assclown. She insisted he was a "changed man".

I just don't understand. Why do the courts do shit like this? The courts around here do the same God dammed shit. There was a 2 year old boy and his older sis who were repeatedly taken away from their druggy parents. The mom's family tried and tried to adopt them but the fucking courts INSISTED the bio parents have them. Now that little boy is dead by the hands of his father and his sister watched it happed.

My dad and his fiancee are raising her 3 grandsons. The oldest one almost had his toe burnt off by a crack pipe they stuck in the crib when he was a babe. That kid is now 13 and does not want to see either of his bio parents. Earlier this year, he told the judge that, the judge told that 13 year old that "he was GOING TO SEE HIS FATHER ANYWAYS".

MInd you besides the crack pipe incident, his father pregnanted a 13 year old girl, been convicted multible times of menacing, DV, violation od a top, dui and drug abuse. The fathers whole family is trash. Why do the courts do this? I read about a woman in georgia who was attact in her own home and they took her daughter away! Why do they fuck with decient parents and give the shitty ones custody and visitation? WHY?:argh:

Oklahoma is a death penalty state, so I'm sure that copping a plea was within his best interest given that this was not the first time he'd abused a helpless infant.
