The 19,000 American Bud Light employees and 47,000 American's employeed as distributers in February, would like to acknowledge all those who kept this non-event about six cans of beer, alive and stoked with the fiery heat of the self-righteousness.

Well done, Travis Tritt, Kid Rock! You made transphobia into a "virtue".

The people of Hidalgo, Coahuila, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Sinaloa, Zacatecas and Yucatán would also like to thank Travis Tritt and Kid Rock. Newborns are being named after them. Kid Perez. Theresa Travis Trujillo.
Měiguó piānjiàn wànsuì!

"After more than two decades as America’s best-selling beer, Bud Light has slipped into second place.

Modelo Especial, a Mexican lager, overtook Bud Light in U.S. retail dollar sales in the month ending June 3, according to Nielsen data analyzed by Bump Williams Consulting. Modelo controlled 8.4% of U.S. grocery, convenience and liquor store sales; Bud Light fell to 7.3%."

"When Modelo first went on sale in the U.S. in the 1990s, it was primarily marketed to Hispanic drinkers, Scanlon said. It launched English-language ads in 2015 and has broadened its consumer base significantly since then. It’s especially popular among younger drinkers, who like its fuller flavor, Scanlon said.

Scanlon said Modelo is already the top seller in markets like Los Angeles and Chicago, but it could still see a lot of growth ahead on the East Coast."

You showed them. Nobody will call you a chapstick lesbian ever again.

So, what you're saying is that you are unhappy about a Mexican Beer reaching the top spot for sales in America? Cool way to let your racist freak flag fly. See, I can do what you do when you deliberately twist words around too. You're not special with your insidious brand of hate. We SEE you, hunni... :shifty:

I blame the ridiculous “wokeness”. People are beyond sick of having that b/s shoved at them 24x7. So many are participating that it must be another requirement to stay in the club, if you will. Because I don’t believe for a nanosecond they give a fuck about anyone beyond consuming their swill. They must be getting something in return but the employee and distributors are screwed.

Only because this seems to cause so much discourse around here, I try not to say too much about it...

However, it's not transphobia that doomed bud light here, or Target for that matter.

The issue is two fold. For one, that was NOT their target audience. I honestly have no idea what the fuck they were thinking when they did that. And I know I've said this before, but that Dylan thing is NOT nor will it ever be a woman. That particular thing is man who is a failed actor using this as a another ploy to get fame, while simultaneously mocking women in the process. Further more, beer as a whole is generally marketed to men in manly ways. As again, that was not their target audience.

Secondly, as Satanica just stated, people are sick of this shit being shoved down their throats. Plain and simple. Please note, I am gay, though at this point in time, I almost hate saying it. It's almost dangerous to admit it anymore. It only takes a few of these extreme examples of nonsense to ruin it for the rest of us.

Think buds issue was using the trashiest caricature representative they could find
Target issue was created by Newsom out to get all the usual democratic niche votes and it turned into a shit storm as the letters took it to another level of idiocy

For what it's worth, I don't have it very much, but I think Modelo is pretty good beer. I'm more of a Dos Equis guy, but I'm definitely down for Modelo.

It's definitely an interesting turn of events in the beer world. Bud Light losing that 1st place designation is a very serious consequence, even if it is simply a title respondent to sales.

For me, and for a lot of people, it's that they chose Dylan Mulvaney. If they wanted to represent trans people, they should have chosen someone who is actually trans, like Buck Angel, Blaire White, or Alexandra Billings. Dylan is a sideshow, a mockery of both women and truly trans people.

ALL beer smells like horse piss to me. Don't like it, have never liked it, when I have drank it, I can remember only one time, I was forcing it down, trying to be cool with the cool kids.

Modelo was one of Mr, Cubby's favorite, along with Blue Moon with an orange slice.
I like Blue Moon with an orange slice, but I only drink it - wait for it - once in a blue moon! :D
