The investigation began on March 15 after the six-week-old infants were brought to Strong Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries consistent with child abuse.

Medical reports later confirmed the infants suffered severe non-accidental trauma, including brain bleeds, broken bones, and burns, according to deputies.

Camron Douglas, a parolee, faces two counts of first-degree assault, while Brittany Spicer was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Both were processed and are being held at the Wayne County Jail pending CAPS arraignment.

A stay-away order of protection was issued for both parents involving the two infant boys. Both Spicer and Douglas are also barred from Strong Memorial Hospital property while the children are being treated there. Douglas’ order of protection remains in effect through the end of the year.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Spicer has a three-year-old son who has also been removed from her custody.
