Newly released video shows the moments when a 25-year-old babysitter was caught on camera shoving a 13-month-old girl off a pillow and to the floor at a metro-area home.

The video from the afternoon of Feb. 18 shows the babysitter bending over and shoving the crying girl while two other children were in the room.

"Knocked the child off of it and onto the floor," said Master Sgt. Gary Knight, with the Oklahoma City Police Department.

According to a police report that was filed Sunday, the responding officer stated that "the suspect used an excessive and unnecessary amount of force."

"Obviously, something she should have been more gentle with the kid doing so," Knight said.

In the police report, the mother mentions how her children constantly had bumps and bruises on them, which she thought was just from them falling down while learning how to walk. After firing the babysitter shortly after the incident, the bruises and bumps never reappeared.

"Investigators just got this case, so they'll be looking into this closely," Knight said.

The mother, who wanted to remain anonymous, said she just wants other parents to be more careful who they trust with their children. Police told KOCO 5 that if the babysitter, whom we have chosen not to name at this time, is arrested, it will be up to the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office to determine if she will be charged with child abuse.
