Police are still searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted and attempted to abduct two pre-teen girls who were walking to school.

Prince William County Police were called to the 3800 block of Graham Park Road in Triangle, Virginia, for a reported assault just before 8 a.m. Tuesday.

According to investigators, a 12-year-old girl was walking to school near Graham Park Road, when a man began following her. The man reportedly grabbed the girl from behind. While the man was holding the girl, he inappropriately touched her before she yelled and tried to get away from him, police said in a release.

Eventually, the man let the girl go and ran toward Ginn Memorial Park. The girl kept walking to Graham Park Middle School where she immediately told school personnel who contacted the School Resource Officer (SRO), about the attempted abduction and assault.

While police were investigating the attempted abduction and assault, police officers were told that a second 12-year-old girl had also been assaulted by someone matching the description of the original suspect.
The second girl told police that she was walking near Ginn Memorial Park when she noticed a strange man had begun following her, according to police.

At one point, the man approached the girl from behind and inappropriately touched her as well, police said. The girl also yelled and began to run away from the man.

When a driver who happened to be passing by, saw the girl running, they stopped their car and gave the girl to her home. The girl told her family, who then called police.

"We are very impressed with the girls that were unfortunately involved," said Officer Renee Carr, a spokeswoman for Prince William County Police. "They got away as quick as they could and went and told an adult, who told the police right away."

A man accused of sexually assaulting random women in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties is now facing even more charges after police say he is responsible for attacking two 12-year-old girls in May 2022.
According to the Prince William County Police Department, officers were called to the 3800 block of Graham Park Road in Triangle, Virginia, for a reported assault just before 8 a.m. on May 10, 2022.
A 12-year-old girl told investigators she was walking to school near Graham Park Road when a man began following her. The man reportedly grabbed the girl from behind, inappropriately touching her before she yelled and tried to get away from him. Police say the man let the girl go and ran toward Ginn Memorial Park. The girl continued to school, where she told personnel what happened.

While investigating, police learned of a second attack on another 12-year-old girl by a suspect matching the same description. The second girl told officers she was walking near Ginn Memorial Park when she noticed someone was following her. The man reportedly ran up behind the girl and inappropriately touched her. She yelled and ran away. A driver who saw what happened pulled over to help the girl, offering her a ride home where she told her family and called police.
The investigation continued more than a year after the attack. Detectives caught a break in the case while working with Fairfax County Police to arrest 20-year-old Hien Dinh for sexual battery and abduction.

In the Fairfax County attack, Dihn is accused of following the victim and her mother home from a store. He reportedly grabbed her from behind and " placed his arm around her neck to hold her in place as mother turned to react,” per court documents.
Dihn was also previously convicted for assault and sexual battery cases involving random women being targeted in Henrico County in 2022. He only served one month in jail because 11 months of his 12-month sentence were suspended, according to court records.
A Stafford man linked to a string of assaults against women and children across Northern Virginia has been charged again in connection with an alleged 2023 attack in Fairfax County just weeks after pleading guilty to two other assaults in Prince William County.
Hien The Dinh, 21, has been in custody since June after a judge in Henrico County revoked his probation. Dinh pleaded guilty in 2022 to two misdemeanor counts of sexual battery in connection with assaults near Douglas Southall Freeman High School in Henrico. He was sentenced to a year in jail with 11 months suspended on both counts but was ordered in June to serve the full sentence.

Since 2022, police have linked Dinh to multiple assaults in Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun Counties. In July 2023, Dinh was charged in Fairfax County with felony abduction with intent to defile and sexual battery for allegedly following a woman and then grabbing her from behind and touching her inappropriately. According to court documents, Dinh allegedly placed his arm around the woman’s neck to hold her in place as her mother, who was walking with her, turned to react.
During a preliminary hearing last year, the 23-year-old woman said she was pushing her younger sibling’s stroller when the attack happened.

Those charges were dropped in September 2023 after a Fairfax County judge found there wasn’t sufficient probable cause due to a lack of identification of Dinh as the alleged attacker.
That same month, however, Dinh was indicted in Prince William County on felony charges for assaults on two 12-year-old girls in May 2022. Two months later, he was charged in Loudoun County with felony sexual battery on the campus of Northern Virginia Community College.

Dinh pleaded guilty in January to misdemeanor assault and battery in the Loudoun County case. Earlier this month, he entered a separate guilty plea to two felony counts of child abuse and a misdemeanor charge of sexual battery in Prince William County. As part of his conviction, Dinh was ordered to register as a sex offender.

Two days after his guilty plea in Prince William County, a new warrant for his arrest was served in connection with the alleged 2023 assault in Fairfax County.
