TX Man Grabbed Girlfriend By Throat, Stabbed Couch After Child Sex Abuse Accusation

On June 22, 2025, officers responded to a disturbance call, according to an affidavit.

Investigators said a child in the home accused Trey Mayo of sexual abuse. The mother of the child then woke Mayo, her boyfriend, and told him to leave because of the allegations.

Police said Mayo then grabbed the victim by the throat, causing pain in her neck and jaw. He then took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed the couch near the victim’s head.

The same child, investigators said, witnessed the assault and attempted to call 911, but Mayo took the phone from her hand. The child then ran to a neighbor’s house to call for help.

The victim told police she fears for her and her children’s safety if Mayo “gets to them,” due to the seriousness of the accusations, according to the affidavit.

Mayo was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
