Former President Donald Trump was rushed off stage by Secret Service agents during a disturbance at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.

Trump began his speech at about 6 p.m. and was only shortly into his speech when a disturbance caused Secret Service to swarm the former president. He was then led off the stage quickly, pumping his fist.

There appeared to be blood on his right ear as he was being taken off stage.

Heavily armed security personnel got on stage as he was led off.

This is a developing story.

News media and libtards always claiming the right is violent, while BLM burn cites, antifa attack speakers and libtards try to assassinate Trump, not to mention liberal politicians trying to arrest the opposition
Guess if you can't beat them, arrest them, you shoot them, the libtard motto

Shooting at Trump rally is being investigated as assassination attempt, AP sources say

BUTLER, Pa. (AP) — Donald Trump appeared to be the target of an assassination attempt as he spoke during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, law enforcement officials said. The former president, his ear covered in blood, was quickly pulled away by Secret Service agents and his campaign said he was “fine.”

The attack, by a shooter who law enforcement officials say was then killed by the Secret Service, was the first attempt to assassinate a president or presidential candidate since Ronald Reagan was shot in 1981. It comes amid a deeply polarized political atmosphere, just four months from the presidential elections and days before Trump is to be officially named the Republican nominee at his party’s convention.

President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act,” spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement. “He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow.”

Earlier today, I was thinking that the President is expected to complete a 4 year term.
Also was concerned that Biden winning would be challenging.

I guess there's a Dem so concerned by the polls that he wanted to give Biden a chance at winning by taking Trump out.

I'm thinking this will rally Republican voters.

Trump says he ‘felt the bullet ripping through my skin’ in first statement since assassination attempt

Former President Donald Trump says he “felt the bullet ripping through [his] skin” during an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

“I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear,” the 78-year-old presumptive Republican presidential nominee said in his first statement after being rushed to a local hospital.

“I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening.”

Trump issued the statement on his Truth Social page amid conflicting initial reports, including reporting that he may have been struck by glass rather than a bullet.

“I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania,” Trump wrote

“Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our country.”

Not surprised this BS is already popping up.

Was it ‘staged?’ Social media trolls claim Trump shooting was fake

Almost immediately after former President Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt, trolls took to social media with wild claims that the shooting was “staged.”

On X , conspiracy theorists dismissed the deadly attempt on Trump’s life as a stunt to boost his campaign.

After “Trump,” the word “staged” was the number two top trending topic on the app in the wake of the shooting.

“Trump getting shot was completely staged,” wrote one user. “He wouldn’t stop looking in that direction. Obviously someone who could make that shot wouldn’t miss if they were intending to kill him. Then he got up and raised his hand. He would have sh-t his pants if this was real.”

After Trump was injured, he threw his fist in the air towards the crowd as Secret Service agents and local law enforcement tried to rush him off the stage. The image, being touted as “iconic” by his supporters, seemed too good to be true for some trolls and doubters.

“This is such a perfect photo it’s hard to believe it is not staged. Photo of the decade. Absolutely incredible,” one person tweeted.

One user posted a photo of red blood streaking down Trump’s face and suggested it may have been a “paintball attack.”

Another claimed that Trump “bladed” — a professional wrestling term referring to purposefully cutting oneself for effect — when Secret Service agents tackled him for cover. They called the shooting part of a “WWE ass script.”

“No way they missed with that many shots and just nicked his ear? And then the fist pump and all the pictures of him with the flag. This is propaganda,” wrote another user.

Prayers up for Trump.

Regardless of your opinion on Trump personally, and whether or not you support him, this is something that should never have happened to him nor any of his rallies.

Trump is one of the most important men in the world right now. He needs to be as protected as possible, and there should be no cracks in his protection.

Why was the dude apparently able to crawl on a roof, with a gun, several minutes before firing at Trump's general direction? I'm glad he is now deceased, and no longer a factor. I don't care who he is.

The election is not the same after this. Neither is America.

I hear that Trump was almost fighting Secret Service. I hear he wanted to get back to speaking.

The sickening part is the Maddows and Reids would be crying on television (obviously fake) saying they never wanted Trump to die.

I will attempt on Monday to watch the birds on the view squawk in horror but we know Behar's geriatric pussy got moist at the thought of trump getting assassinated.

@Jaded if you feel this should be merged with @Victoria thread please do so.

The apparent assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump on Saturday outraged, electrified and emboldened Republicans, who hailed Trump’s clenched fist in the wake of gunshots, while it sobered Democrats who were already nervous about the threat of political violence and their diminished prospects this fall.

Within minutes of the rifle fire at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Republican anger at the shooting turned to admiration at Trump’s instinctive response and then jubilation at his defiance, a reaction that underscored the persecution his supporters feel and the instantaneous manner of how even the most grave news is processed.

By sundown, and without concrete reporting about the deceased shooter’s identity, Republicans were openly faulting their political opponents for the incident.

“We will not tolerate this attack from the left,” said Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.), who was present at the rally.

The accusation was as raw as it was remarkable. It evoked the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy, which many Democrats immediately ascribed to the right-wing hostilities the then-president confronted in Dallas.

In the always online and deeply polarized world of 2024, though, the claims came quick, no matter the lack of information about motive.

One of Trump’s potential running mates, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), said, “The central premise of the Biden campaign is that President Donald Trump is an authoritarian fascist must be stopped at all costs,” adding: “That rhetoric led directly to President Trump's attempted assassination.”

Also seeing an opening, Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) joined with Robert O’Brien, Trump’s former national security adviser, to call on Biden to drop all federal charges against the former president.

Even Trump’s children immediately responded to the near-murder of their father with a sense of triumph rather than shock. “He’ll never stop fighting to Save America,” Donald Trump Jr. posted online, with a picture of his father, fist raised, face bloodied and surrounded by Secret Service, an American flag in the backdrop.

Others, including sitting members of Congress, rushed to post the same or similar pictures and then joined with Trump officials to use the hours after the shooting to vent about the initial media reports, which understandably were careful about how to describe such a stunning event.

Some of this bravado was just that, the stuff of wanting to say something online, as is typical now in response to any news, without thinking through the profound implications.

However, the speed and intensity of the response also reflected the boiling anger so many Trump loyalists felt long before the former president gripped his right ear Saturday night. His supporters feel he has been pursued by the government in a manner befitting an exiled opposition leader and that, as Vance said, this was the inevitable outcome of America succumbing to Third World tactics. The facts — particularly the Biden administration’s initial reluctance to pursue charges against his predecessor — don’t reflect the claims, but they’ve seeped in deeply on the American right.

It may have been jarring in the moment, but there was a reason so many Republicans thought to quickly post the photos of a blood-streaked Trump: They will prove politically potent.

In campaigns, perception can quickly harden into reality and symbolism is often more significant than substance. The pictures and film of Trump rallying the crowd will likely be the enduring image of this election and perhaps his entire political career.

Even before President Biden’s catastrophic debate last month, Trump had run on a platform of strength, portraying himself as a politically muscular figure against a weak and aging incumbent president. Next week’s Republican nominating convention will deliver Trump a hero’s welcome and an audience to match, befitting a party leader who had a brush with death.

“The raised fist will become the iconic symbol of the convention,” predicted longtime GOP strategist Mike Murphy.

Convention planners had already successive evening themes dedicated to making America “safe” and “strong” again, sessions that will, along with Trump’s expected cameo with his new running mate the opening night, be vivified with new meaning after the shooting.

The former president is likely to enjoy a rallying effect in immediate polls, with more independents likely shifting his way. “There will be some good, old-fashioned American compassion for Trump,” predicted Murphy, who opposes the former president’s campaign.

What’s less clear is whether the shooting hastens Democratic calls for Biden to withdraw from the race. Most elected Democrats responded to the shooting by denouncing political violence and few wanted to discuss how it may echo in the campaign.

Yet in private, many Democratic political veterans were bracing for Trump to enjoy a convention bounce larger than he could have ever hoped to enjoy in such divided times. And it wasn’t difficult to detect a sense of doom, that an already uphill campaign may have become out of reach. One longtime strategist invoked Bill Clinton’s memorable line about “strong and wrong” always trumping “weak and right.”

What worried Democrats the most was whether Biden could rise to the moment, whether he’d appear more like a forceful Lyndon Johnson addressing a joint session of Congress after Kennedy’s murder or the elderly looking House speaker, John McCormack, sitting on the rostrum.

Shortly before the shooting, the president shouted down a Democratic representative on a conference call aimed at steadying his listing candidacy and demonstrating to nervous lawmakers he was capable of forging ahead. But the call unnerved even some of Biden’s most dedicated allies, who lamented how insecure and defensive the president sounded when the lawmaker, Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.), questioned Biden’s ability to argue he could remain commander-in-chief.

I just hope that Trump who is like a "Bull in a China Shop' acknowledges the person who lost their life and the other that was injured.

Trump should have used the last 4 years to work on empathy and sensitivity. His need for the 'gotcha" all the time is one of his greatest weaknesses.

The only other person to fight the Facists was JFK. And what's funny is Antifa are actually the foot soldiers for the fascists. Musalini who is the godfather of fascism said the correct word was corporateism. And antifa are the brownshirts of the fourth Reich and they want us to pay back their college fees for indoctrination. Babylon has made it's return using literal retards as foot soldiers. Please excuse my spelling and grammar as I had a few cold ones and some super sour diesel, which is the sacrament in my branch of my independent Christian faith.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has identified 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks as the suspect in the attempted assassination of former US President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania’s Butler County.
The suspect, a resident of Bethel Park in Pennsylvania, was shot and killed by the Secret Service seconds after he allegedly fired shots towards a stage where Trump was speaking at the rally on Saturday days before the Republican convention.
Crooks lived about an hour away from where the shooting took place in Butler. He graduated in 2022 from Bethel Park High School, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. He received a $500 “star award” from the National Math and Science Initiative, according to the newspaper.

A 2022 graduation ceremony video cited by The New York Times shows Crooks receiving his high school diploma to some applause. Video from that ceremony posted online shows Crooks with glasses in a black graduation gown and posing with a school official.
State voter records show that Crooks was a registered Republican and the upcoming November 5 election would have been the first time Crooks had been old enough to vote in a presidential race.

However, when he was 17 he made a $15 donation to ActBlue, a political action committee that raises money for left-leaning and Democratic politicians, according to a 2021 Federal Election Commission filing. The donation was earmarked for the Progressive Turnout Project, a national group that rallies Democrats to vote.

That's NOT the shooter in the video saying he hates Trump, ffs. That's been known since yesterday. That's a troll named @jewgazing who made that video after the shooting.

The actual shooter was a registered Republican and gun enthusiast.
You can stretch all day to make this into the Democrats fault but it's not, it doesn't even matter that he's Republican, most presidential assassins have one thing in common- they're delusional and insane.

He posted images after he was killed? Jfc.

The first presidential assassination attempt was in 1835, by Richard Lawrence, who muttered to himself all the time about Jackson and was known to be "off". His two pistols failed, Jackson gave his an ass-whipping with his cane, and U.S. Representative Davy Crockett wrestled the man away. Lawrence spent the rest of his life in an insane asylum. Said at his brief trial that the court held no authority over him.
Sound familiar?
And false conspiracy theories abounded then also. Affected the elections.

I don't know what the hell that image of a purported voter registration with no party shown above is from .

Those rally attendees and the former president should have been kept MUCH safer. Except for insisting on his shoes, Trump reacted brilliantly, like it or not.
But I'm sure he'll come around and blame Biden.
And you'll believe him.

Condolences to the family of the victim, and let's hope the injured recover

The shooter wore a T-shirt from Demolition Ranch, a YouTube channel about firearms and explosives

It was glass from a shattered teleprompter that struck him, not a bullet.

How soon before a new shirt is for sale?

Just another RINO, left wing violent liberal nut case, donating to nut case liberals, while registered republican to affect elections in favor of libtard progressive nut cases
I doubt anyone originally knew how the injury happened to act like it was no big deal and belittle this horrible act, takes a couple of really mentally deficient TDS losers, the real hypocrite fake people of this world, practically victim blaming for being shot. Think TDS is a mental disease many hypocrite liberals suffer from and will only worsen after the election

Trump also expressed his condolences for the rally-goer who was killed during the botched assassination attempt.

Same BS from the TDS crowd, attacking conservatives and burning cites is ok, hypocrite much
TDS consumed Blitzer is the issue not the solution

Who’s In the Hospital?’ CNN’s Scott Jennings Pushes Back on Wolf Blitzer’s ‘Both Sides’ Argument

CNN panel discussion turned tense when Jennings, a Republican strategist and conservative voice on CNN, blamed the shooting on “extreme” rhetoric about Trump.

“We have people in this country who are dedicated to telling half the country that if Donald Trump wins an election, the country will end. The Constitution will go away, and so on and so forth,” Jennings said. “What I want to hear from all elected officials is this kind of hyperbolic extremism has consequences, and it must end. Yes, we’re all shot in. Yes, political violence has no place. Where does it come from? It’s got to stop.”
Blitzer made sure to point out Trump’s rhetoric, pushing back on Jennings, saying, “But we’re also hearing from Trump very, very strong statements of condemnation of Biden, the worst president, the most dangerous president, and all of that. He’s speaking very, very strongly against President Biden.”
