A North Texas mother accused of medically abusing her 3-year-old son was arrested last week, the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Wednesday.
Kaitlyn Rose Laura, 31, faces charges of serious bodily injury to a child and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Sheriff’s Office and court records.
Laura is accused of lying about the toddler’s medical history in order to get unnecessary treatments, including a feeding tube, at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth and Children’s Medical Center Dallas, according to an arrest warrant affidavit prepared by Sheriff’s Office Detective Michael Weber.
