A toddler was found wandering alone in the freezing cold outside a Jersey Shore home Monday after the child’s babysitter drank herself nearly to death, cops said.
A neighbor rescued the poor tot in Brigantine just after 12:30 p.m. — then found drunk babysitter Jena Davidson unconscious inside the home, according to police.

The neighbor subsequently called the police, who responded to the call along with Brigantine Fire and EMS.
Davidson, a 35-year-old from Ventnor City, New Jersey, was given life support and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, police said.
“It was determined that the person who was hired to be responsible for the care of the child while the parents were working had consumed a significant amount of the homeowner’s alcohol to the point that she became unconscious and unresponsive,” the Brigantine Police Department said in a statement.
Davidson was subsequently charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

The child’s parent was told what had happened and left work to rush home, officials said.

Davidson was hired by the parent through Nanny Lane, a popular website used to find local babysitters.
