I don't think self defense is a good argument since she was holding her baby. God help these children when they are old enough to realize exactly what happened to their mother and especially the child she was holding on to while she died. I had an abusive father and watched while he beat my mother regularly and to this day I feel so ashamed of him as my father and so sorry she had to go through that for so long. I cannot even imagine what they are going to remember and the guilt of not remembering what she was like, her laugh, her smile, etc, and they really did not get to know her that much to hold on to. So sad. :(
