An actor featured in the DailyWire+ comedy “Lady Ballers” was arrested following the premiere in Nashville last week for charges related to his presence at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Federal authorities arrested Siaka Massaquoi on November 30 after he and his wife, Charlotte, arrived back in California following the showing, according to a legal defense fundraiser set up in his name.
“Upon their arrival, Siaka was separated from his wife and abruptly arrested by the FBI,” according to the fundraising page. “At the time, Charlotte was told the charges had to do with January 6th; however, she was not presented with any arrest warrant.”
Massaquoi, who appeared in the new comedy from The Daily Wire, was taken to the Monterey Park Jail, where he stayed overnight after being charged with four misdemeanors in connection to January 6, according to the fundraiser page.
Three years ago, approximately 20 FBI agents dressed in tactical gear raided Massaquoi’s North Hollywood home just before 6 a.m. on a Thursday — about six months after that infamous day in 2021, according to The Los Angeles Times.
Video footage from the Capitol breach posted by StopHate, a Texas-based activist group, claims to show Massaquoi inside the Capitol building.
“He was at the threshold of the door for maybe a minute, & even helping the police direct the flow of foot traffic out the door. Crime?” the group wrote in a December 2 post.
Massaquoi reposted the group’s video on his X account. “Witness why I was raided 2 years ago and recently arrested and charged Nov 30th 2023 almost 3 years later,” he said.
In a Monday post, [Seth] Dillon [CEO of Babylon Bee] posted the arrest warrant presented to Massaquoi, revealing charges including knowingly entering a restricted building, and disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building.
Although authorities never charged Massaquoi, the fundraiser’s page said that the family has “feared that this day might come, in which the government would charge him for something he didn’t do,” adding the actor has been “scrutinized at airports for several years.”
The fundraiser for Massaquoi has raised nearly $40,000 of its $115,000 goal to cover the legal expenses. The campaign page also requested to keep the family in prayer support as the couple is expecting their first child.
According to podcast host Lori Mills, authorities arraigned Massaquoi on Friday and released him with conditions.
“This judge was fair. Preliminary trial next week,” she wrote in an X-post. “We are praying it gets thrown out as DC wants the case.”
Federal authorities arrested Massaquoi more than two months after he filed a group lawsuit against the FBI, Bureau Director Christopher Wray, the Department of Justice, and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
According to the lawsuit filed in a district court in Florida on September 20, the plaintiffs requested the court to certify the legal challenge as a class action lawsuit on behalf of individuals “who were peacefully protesting in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021, but who did not commit any felonies or engage in any violence, but have been subjected to unconstitutional, illegal surveillance by Defendant Wray and his agents in the aftermath.”
“While there were a few people who chose to enter and engage in acts of violence in the U.S. Capitol, Plaintiffs were not among those involved in any such conduct,” the lawsuit said. “All Plaintiffs did was exercise their right to peacefully assemble and protest under the Constitution.”
The Department of Justice has reportedly charged more than 1,069 individuals from nearly all 50 states and the District of Columbia in connection to January 6.

Yes, the guy from the Babylon Bee's Californians move to Texas series! I did not know that he was in DC for that January 6. Below is footage that he uploaded of himself being there, where he appears to be trying to help traffic out of the building. Worth noting is that both the Babylon Bee and the Daily Wire have publicly defended and supported him in response to this.
Regarding what happened at the Capitol on January 6, it was a grim day in American history. Not only was it one of the most severe and caustic domestic confrontations of American democracy in history, but also five people died there. Several police officers killed themselves after the fact. The day was known for its violence, scattered information, cacophony, political iconoclasm, massive crowds during a pandemic, and scenes of both terror and surreality coming to life.
While the crowd was overwhelmingly Pro-Trump, with such a large mass being there, it is clear that they would have varying reasons and emphases for their attendance. I will not assume that all of them thought the election was stolen, nor that all of them were violent. My point of saying that is for those who wanted to peacefully assemble, be respectful, and did exactly that, should they be left alone by law enforcement or are they guilty by association with the violent mobsters?
And that leads us to Siaka Massaquoi's presence there. He appeared to be not interested in violence (or at least there is no proof publicly available suggesting such) and, while the above video shows him in an official building (I'm not sure which one), he appears to be there just briefly, basically not venturing too far from the doorframe, and facilitating best he can people getting out of there. Is such a thing worth criminally charging anyone with? It's pretty hard, really, to tell what's going on in that
Let's not forget that the first amendment grants people the right not just to free speech, but also peaceful assembly.
"I went to DC on January 6. What I saw and experienced, of course, wasn't anything like what they said on MSNBC," he said on Enough Talk with Alex Balekian.
"I remember that day, right, putting a live out going they're gonna lie to you, say it's this, that and the other, but it's not. It was peaceful... We did the national anthem, ran into friends."
He addressed the FBI raid on his home, saying that agents "came in, guns drawn... pointed it at me, my roommates, my godsons, three and six at the time."
He added that he was not dressed in anticipation of violence. "No one has a picture of me wearing any type of body protection," he said. "I'm wearing T-shirts and jeans and a hat telling people to run for local office. That's why you're in my house like this?"
That incident motivated him to run for office himself.
GOP official arrested over Jan. 6 involvement
Siaka Massaquoi, first vice-chair of the Republican Party of Los Angeles, was reportedly charged over his presence at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
I've also read that the Swat team took his phone and computer, and have yet to return them.
One thing I did not know about Massaquoi is that he is not only an actor, he is also a politician. In 2022, he ran for State Assembly in District 43 of California, eventually losing to Luz Rivas. District 43 is part of Los Angeles that includes North Hollywood, the San Fernando Valley, and the Whiteman Airport. Massaquoi also presently serves as the 1st Vice Chair of LA's Republican Party.
The political persecution of Siaka Massaquoi
The arrest warrant for Siaka cites four misdemeanors (parading, trespassing, disorderly conduct) in connection with the events at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.
His wife is pregnant with their first child, due in March 2024, and he is facing four misdemeanors related to January 6. Massaquoi maintains his innocence in the charges he is faced with, and a crowdfund at GiveSendGo has been set up to help with his legal defense.

Siaka For Assembly
Other prominent creatives who were at January 6 include Chrissie Mayr (source), a conservative comedienne and podcaster who hosts Simpcast and, notably, has interviewed Chandler Juliet, aka Timpani SheHer; Jay Johnston, who previously had roles on Arrested Development and as the voice of Jimmy Pesto on Bob's Burgers; and we can't forget Jon Schaffer of power/thrash metal band Iced Earth, whose picture of him angrily pointing became an icon of the J6 events, perhaps second only to the photos of the Q Shaman.
So, sound off! Do you think Massaquoi should be held accountable for any possible actions of his on January 6, or is he being politically persecuted as a citizen outspoken about his beliefs?
