The Violent Crime Unit detectives are investigating the death of an infant in the city's Brighton Heights neighborhood.

Police were called for an infant in distress. First responders found the 3-month-old boy unresponsive. The baby was taken to Children's Hospital in critical condition, where they later died.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner on Tuesday identified the child as Kyrie Robert Mitchell. The ME's office did not release the baby's cause of manner of death.
