Tennessee Woman, 19, Dies After Being Mauled By 5 Dogs; Covered In Bite Wounds & Blood

A 19-year-old Tennessee woman has died after she was mauled by a pack of dogs that owners say 'were doing their jobs,' according to local authorities.

Adrieanna O'shea, from Maryville, was hospitalized on August 23 after she was attacked by the five dogs at a residence on Crescent Drive where she had gone to retrieve her purse.

A witness told the Knox Sheriff's Department that she heard the woman call one of the dogs by its name before screaming, 'Help Me!'

The witness explained to the Knoxville News Sentinel that when she ran to the door she saw O'shea being tossed in the air and dragged toward a wooded area.

O'shea was found by deputies with bite wounds all over her body. She was also unconscious.

Deputies said that the dogs had torn off all of O'shea's clothes, adding that she was covered in blood and debris.

The victim had managed to jump a small fence in an effort to get away from the dogs.

One of the dogs was shot and killed by a deputy after charging at him, an incident report states.

A married couple owned the dogs, along with their son who lives in a mobile home on his parent's property. The woman had been leaving a home that was adjacent to the one where the dogs were.

According to the incident report, one of the owners told deputies that 'the dogs were doing their jobs.'

The dogs were described as being a mastiff, a Rottweiler-lab mix, two mastiff-lab mixes and a pitbull.

One of the mastiff-lav mixes was shot by deputies. The other four animals were taken to the Young-Williams Animal Center.

According to local reports, the owners said that the dogs were euthanized.
