A Coal County preschooler is bruised, ans a teacher's aid is suspended after she's accused of dragging a five year old year down a hallway, and hitting her with a paddle.

Court documents state on November 12th, the five-year-old girl left the bathroom without washing her hands. After the little girl crossed her arms and refused to wash them, documents state Sheila Ann Ray grabbed the little girl's arm and dragged her through a crowded hallway and into a classroom.

Once inside the classroom, alone, court documents state Ray reprimanded her, and got in her face. Then, documents describe how ray used a ping pong paddle to spank the girl. Documents say the incident lasted about five minutes. Ray was arrested on Thursday, December 5th for a felony of child abuse.

Sheila looks like she is not with the shits from anyone.

Hygiene is important, but, damn. I don't think physical punishment or screaming in the kid's face is the answer at all. Being clean is something children come to appreciate over time. Maybe she could've offered the child a wet wipe instead. I'll bet Sheila doesn't exactly inspire cooperation with the rules.

Kid should have washed. Probably a messed up kid who was driving her crazy long before that.
I had to remind my husband to wash hands with soap.
