"Christian Mothershead, 46, of West Allis, faces three felony counts.

According to a criminal complaint, Mothershead met the woman on a dating website in 2017 and flew to the Philippines to meet her.

She told police Mothershead promised her a better life in the United States and to marry her.

The victim and her son arrived in November 2018 and Mothershead took them to his house.

He posted about his efforts on his Facebook page.

Police said Mothershead took them to his home and forced them to start cleaning it.

The house was described as very dirty and the criminal complaint said there was garbage piled up and blackened food on the table.

Mothershead allegedly told the woman he was too busy to clean his house.

She told police Mothershead said he wouldn't feed she and her son if they didn't clean.

The complaint said Mothershead sexually assaulted the victim the first night she arrived.

The woman and her son said they cleaned Mothershead's home for three days and were told they would not be given clean water if they didn't clean.

They also told police they were not allowed to watch or touch the television.

The victim said her son was forced to urinate in plastic bottles and throw them on the floor and she was forced to clean them up and give him new bottles.

She told police she was forced to wake up at 5 a.m. every day and cook breakfast for Mothershead and her son.

The complaint said if the woman didn't clean the house, he would threaten to send her back to the Philippines.

Police said Mothershead cooked an elaborate Thanksgiving dinner, but did not let the woman or her son eat any of it because "Thanksgiving is for Americans" and they were not American.

“He just wants me to serve them," the woman's son told investigators.

She told officers she felt like a slave and eventually called police in January 2019.

Mothershead was charged with two counts of human trafficking and one count of sexual assault.

He made his initial court appearance Tuesday.

Mothershead was released on bail.

If convicted, he faces up to 90 years in prison.

A representative said Mothershead worked as a Chinese language teacher at Hamilton High School.

He was placed on unpaid leave Aug. 26 after the school district learned of his arrest."
