"Yekaterina Karaglanova, who had recently graduated as a doctor, was known as @Katti_loves_life to her 86,000 followers on the image-sharing website.

Her body was discovered by her landlord last week after he had been contacted by her alarmed parents, who had not been able to reach their daughter for several days.

Stab wounds were evident on the body.

Police said they were investigating jealousy as a possible motive in the killing as Karaglanova had recently started a new relationship.

She was planning to celebrate her 25th birthday with a boyfriend in the Netherlands, according to Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper.

Leaked CCTV footage captured an alleged former boyfriend of Karaglanova entering the apartment building in the days around her disappearance and leaving with a suitcase and dark gloves on."

Instagram Influencer?
How insipid and vacuous are some people?

Ok she was pretty with sizable amounts of makeup troweled on.
Yes it is a tragedy and a particularly violent end to come to.
Let's not get carried away though. The only influencing she is doing... forgive me...WAS doing was inspiring net gimps to pound one out.

A Russian man has been jailed for nine years for stabbing to death a popular Instagram influencer who modeled herself on Audrey Hepburn.
A Moscow court convicted Maxim Gareyev for the murder of 25-year-old Yekaterina Karaglanova, a medical student whose naked body was found with more than 19 knife wounds in a suitcase in a rented flat in July last year.
Gareyev reportedly underwent numerous cosmetic operations and was nicknamed "Ken Doll" by Russian tabloids for his resemblance to the male version of the Barbie Doll.
In a video released by investigators, he said he murdered Karaglanova, who he knew, because she humiliated him over his financial situation and sexuality.

The 33-year-old was ordered to serve his sentence in a strict-regime penal colony, the Moscow prosecutor's office said.

He was also ordered to pay 2.5 million rubles ($38,000) in compensation to Karaglanova's family.
