An Oklahoma Starbucks apologized on Thanksgiving after one of its baristas wrote "Pig" on the label for a police officer's order.

Kiefer Police Chief Johnny O'Mara shared a photo of the insulting cup handed to one of his officers, who purchased the beverages as a kind gesture for the dispatchers on duty.

“What irks me is the absolute and total disrespect for a police officer who, instead of being home with family and enjoying a meal and a football game, is patrolling his little town,” O'Mara wrote in a Facebook post that quickly went viral.

The barista has been suspended "pending the outcome of our investigation," Starbucks told FOX 25 Thursday night.

The police chief said that when he called the coffee chain, they offered to "replace the coffee with a correct label," but he said that given Starbucks' track record of other anti-police incidents, he wasn't buying it.

His daughter calling him a pig is just fine, she knows him and maybe he is a pig to her. But a stranger working in a service position at a Starbucks, absolutely not okay.
I think they said the employee put it on all of their cups (he was making a coffee run?) His daughter said that he just wanted camera time. I agree it was wrong though. I just find it funny that they called him a word that seems suitable. What are the odds?

Washing out your daddy issues on social media must be so cathartic. I wonder what she will think of it in 20 years when her own children do the same to her. I'm sure the family dysfunction will only escalate.
Also, although she knows the Starbucks employee's insult was meant for everyone who received a cup of coffee, specifically the dispatchers, she took it to a totally personal level. She's lost credibility here even if he's rotten.
Also claiming he just did it for camera time is rich coming from a woman who did exactly the same. The nut fell close to the tree.
If he's as bad as she claims, talk specifics and get him fired. For now, it's all about her personal problems.

ETA: I have problem with every police chief who takes this stuff to social media before taking it to the manager of the business. I'm all for firing the employee, not for throwing a social media pity party first.

Huh, I kinda figured this was bullshit news. At first people were calling it out, and that Starbucks has profanity filters to prevent this from happening and that it would have had to be an online order where he typed in Pig.

Guess not, I'm surprised. Sucks for the rest of the baristas who are forced to be "educated" about the police now.

Police chief Johnny O’Mara met with Starbucks to urge mercy over ‘PIG’ cup scandal
The Oklahoma police chief who blasted Starbucks after one of his officers received an order labeled “PIG” has met with the coffee chain to urge them to rehire the barista fired over the scandal, according to a report.

Kiefer Police Chief Johnny O’Mara said Tuesday that he met with Starbucks officials and “requested the young employee who was terminated be offered a position of employment,

“We start civility by forgiving minor indiscretions and using those moments to help people better themselves,” O’Mara said in a statement.
Then why didn't the police chief do that in the first place by talking privately to Starbucks managment instead of running to the social media gossip mill for a pity party.
I understand the frustration police feel over the nastiness from some people. But playing it for public sympathy is not the way to go unless they can show that the entire company is against them, not just a couple stupid employees.
