Shayln Small Arrested After Six Month Investigation Into The Death Of Her 6-Week-Old Daughter

In late March, Scranton Police were called to Eynon Street for a six-week-old infant who was not breathing and died.

An autopsy in June showed the infant's manner of death was a homicide, according to the coroner.

The Scranton Police Special Victims Unit conducted a six-month investigation from March to September 11, when the unit obtained an arrest warrant for the mother, Shayln Small, 32, of Scranton. The investigation showed that co-sleeping and alcohol consumption led to the infant's death.

She was charged with involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child.

Baby was a cutie patootie!!! Mom has pretty eyes she'll be a hit in jail! She got drunk and passed out with her baby sleeping w/ her, a stupid thing to do. At least it was not an intentional violent murder like we see all too often. I would imagine the guilt mom has would be crushing (if she was normal)...
