A mother and her boyfriend have been charged in the death of a 4-year-old child in Rock Hill, according to police.

Officers responded to calls around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26 regarding a possible child death at a residence located on Gentle Breeze Lane.

An initial investigation determined this to be a homicide by way of child abuse, police said.

The mother Jackleen Mullen, 23, and her boyfriend Jarrell Williams, 26, have both been charged with homicide by child abuse or neglect.

Mullen was previously charged in 2016, when the 4-year-old was born, after the infant tested positive for cocaine and benzodiazepines.

Rock Hill Police said at the time that York County DSS informed them the baby was born premature and tested positive for the drug. The baby was born at 26 weeks gestation.

A Rock Hill couple charged with the death of a 4-year-old girl found “stuffed in a drawer” were both denied bond Wednesday.

Detectives say Mullen told them her daughter, India, who was physically handicapped and had special needs, was staying with family. Instead, authorities found the girl dead in the couple’s bedroom.

Williams and Mullen shared extreme indifference to the child’s life and well-being,” a detective told the judge, requesting the couple be denied bond, which was granted.

The child showed signs of blunt force trauma and respiratory distress, detectives said. Investigators say evidence was recovered at the home that connects the couple to the child’s murder but did not elaborate.

When Mullen was told her daughter was found dead she “showed no emotion or empathy,” detectives told the judge.

In court, Mullen had tears in her eyes. She and her boyfriend appeared separately and said little. Both were appointed public defenders and ordered not to have any contact with their three other young kids.

Williams has two kids, ages one and 7, who are with the Department of Social Services. Mullen has a 4-year-old, who is staying with relatives.

“It’s just sad,” said Mary Clark, who is president of the local homeowners association. “I feel bad for the family.”

How does Mullen have another 4 year old? I mean I know it’s possible, but is the child older or younger than the 4 year old they murdered?

Also a baby born at 26 weeks with drugs in its system and they give it back to this scum-who either already had an infant or was cooking up another one.

Irish twins maybe. I'm one, my two oldest kids are, and my sons two youngest are.

A South Carolina mom and her boyfriend are accused of killing her special-needs daughter and hiding the body inside a dresser, authorities said.

Jackleen Elizabeth Mullen, 23, and Audrevious Jarrell Williams, 26, were arrested Wednesday in the death of 4-year-old India Martin, who was a special-needs and disabled child, at their Rock Hill home, Rock Hill Herald reported.

The couple told authorities the tot was in North Carolina with family, but officers later found her remains stuffed in a dresser drawer.

Police said the mom “showed no emotion” during the investigation or when the child’s body was discovered, the newspaper reported.

No cause of death was released, but the little girl showed signs of trauma from beating and respiratory distress, police said.

Jackleen Mullen was sentenced to 30 years for homicide by child abuse. The 10-year sentence for aiding and abetting will run concurrent to the 30 years.
Mullen will not be eligible for release until she serves at least 22 years behind bars.
The child, named India, had special needs, and when investigators asked Mullen where the girl was, she told them she was staying with family in North Carolina. Further investigation revealed that that was not true.

Her body was later found in a dresser drawer at a home on Gentle Breeze Lane in Rock Hill.

Mullen also faced charges in 2016 when the same child tested positive for cocaine after being born at just 26 weeks.
Mullen showed no emotion in court as the guilty verdicts were read.

Of course she didn't, Her Dick's case is still pending.

A 31-year-old man in South Carolina will spend more than a decade behind bars helping his girlfriend cover up the horrific death of her 4-year-old special-needs daughter, who was found beaten to death and stuffed in the drawer of a dresser shared nearly five years ago.
Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Eugene C. Griffith Jr. on Thursday ordered Audrevious Jarrell Williams to serve 12 years in a state correctional facility for his role in the 2020 slaying of India Heavenly Lacey Martin, court records reviewed by Law&Crime show.
A jury went on to find Mullen guilty of one count of homicide by child abuse and one count of aiding and abetting homicide by child abuse. She was acquitted of the murder charge.

Griffith subsequently sentenced her to 30 years on the murder charge and 10 years on the aiding and abetting charge, to be served concurrently, meaning at the same time. She is required by law to serve at least 85% of her sentence.
During Thursday’s proceedings, Detective Robert Smith with the Rock Hill Police Department described the horrific circumstances surrounding India’s death, telling the court, “This little girl died one of the most miserable deaths a child has ever had."
Jackleen Mullen will not be eligible for parole until July 2047.
