Christopher Steven McGee, age 35, was found guilty of 2nd degree rape with a 12-year-old victim, with whom he had cultivated an ongoing sexual relationship. The Honorable Judge Pamela K. Alban reached her verdict following a three-day bench trial that began on Tuesday, July 29.
Following the guilty verdict, State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess commented, “This Defendant’s behavior is both shocking and disturbing in how he manipulated a young vulnerable girl to believe that they were in love. It is particularly concerning because he molested another 12-year old girl in Texas. His prison time and registration as a sex offender apparently did not deter him from reoffending. The State will be seeking a significant prison term at his sentencing.”
In December 2023, investigators with the Anne Arundel County Police Department launched a child sex abuse investigation involving Christopher McGee (then age 34) and a 12-year-old female. The Defendant was the victim’s boyfriend’s stepfather. The investigation revealed a pattern of grooming and manipulation by the defendant to convince the child to engage in a relationship with him. Detectives were able to collect physical evidence corroborating the defendant’s behavior, including a photograph of him kissing the child and explicit social media communications. The detectives were also able to locate a nude photograph of the Defendant in the victim’s possession.

Christopher Steven McGee, age 36, was sentenced to twenty years in prison, the maximum sentence allowed by law, for second-degree rape by the Honorable Judge Pamela Alban. He must also register as a Tier III sex offender for life.
Following the sentencing, State’s Attorney Anne Colt Leitess commented, “This young survivor showed tremendous courage, and the evidence made unmistakably clear that McGee posed a serious and ongoing threat to children. The court’s sentence reflects the gravity of his actions and the danger he presents. Our office will always stand with survivors of sexual abuse and work tirelessly to safeguard those who cannot protect themselves.”

At trial, the State called a witness who was previously sexually abused by McGee when she was 12-years-old in 2011. The abuse took place in Texas where McGee had been stationed with the U.S. military. McGee served seven years in prison for aggravated sexual abuse of a minor and sodomy in that case. He was also dishonorably discharged from the military.
