A Florida man allegedly shot and killed his ex-wife and stepson over electricity usage because they left the lights on too long.

Michael Williams, 47, is accused of killing Marsha Williams and her adult son, 28-year-old Robert Adams at the home they all shared.

Investigators say that the suspect became angry at the family home in Volusia County and told sheriff’s deputies that he had shot and killed them when they attacked him.
“This is absolutely senseless. This is an argument over electricity,” said Chief Deputy Brian Henderson with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

“He felt that they were leaving the lights on in the house, so he went and put a lock on the box outside of the house to which Marsha and her son cut.”

Investigators say there was a confrontation between the group on Sunday evening, after which Mr Williams called 911.

“I had my weapon on me and while they were attacking me, I basically–I had to, basically, I shot them,” he allegedly told the operator. “You shot him?” the operator asked.

“Yes, I shot him and his mother,” Mr Williams said.

When deputies arrived at the scene Mr Williams was waiting for them and surrendered.

The bodies of the victims were found inside the home, along with the stepson’s unharmed children, ages five and six.

@Satanica

And I bet you still leave the lights on.
I really do try to remember, especially, the garage light which all of us seem prone to forget. Often, I leave my closet light on and the door ajar rather than have a lamp on. The ceiling light is a no go for me; I prefer soft lighting. On weekends, since I'm awake early anyway, I watch my ipad in my bedroom, dark except for the closet, open the curtains, drink a Dunkin original, and wait for sunrise or until someone else gets up and about.

I really do. About 2 years ago something happened and I couldn't drink regular coffee any more. I used to bring my own to work, but I had to stop altogether until I found a substitute that wouldn't hurt my stomach. I actually have a hoard of them at home, because they were hard to find there for awhile. Now that the availability issue seems to have resolved itself, I can start to drink those.

I have serious doubts about his story and I'll bet LE does also. My dad used to bitch about the lights, too, but he would just go behind us and do it himself and never got ragey about it.

Oh I remember those days, yeah, a lot of yelling but nothing else. And then there was my ex screaming at the kids, "Shut that gotdamned door!!" cause we only had a window unit AC in the living room. These days I do what I want, I pay, so I have all I want. And I like it like that!

An ex-Marine was found guilty Friday of murdering his ex-wife and her son during a confrontation over electricity in a house they shared near DeLand.

Michael Williams, 48, was convicted as charged of two counts of second-degree murder with a firearm and will face up to life in prison for gunning down his ex-wife, Marsha Ebanks-Williams, 48, and her son, Robert Adams, 28, two years ago near DeLand.

A sentencing date has not yet been set.

I’m sure it was far more than just the electric charges! He put a serious crimp in that family’s life! Sad he was so tightly wrapped So many good things in life to waste on that trauma!
My sincere condolences to the Williams and Adam’s families, may you come forward and prosper.
