Officers responded to a medical call around 9:30 p.m. according to Appleton police. Officers found a 27-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl with life-threatening injuries.

Officials said the victims were taken to a local hospital where the 3-year-old died. The woman is being treated for her injuries.

The woman is pregnant.

An Appleton man arrested Wednesday night is accused of killing a 3-year-old girl and severely injuring a pregnant woman with "an edged weapon."
The woman and her unborn child were in stable condition by Thursday afternoon, police said.

And surprise - DOTM:
Williams was in a "dating relationship" with the 27-year-old woman, police said.

probably didn't want to be a parent?

Demetrius Williams now in custody.

Neighbors say Williams came from the direction of the apartment complex, running west on Newberry Street, toward a Mobil gas station. He went inside where he used the station’s landline to talk to police, while several officers waiting for him outside.

“Demetrius L. Williams was confined at the Outagamie County Jail on first degree intentional homicide, and two counts of attempted homicide,” explained Cash.

- Police have released the name of the 3-year-old girl who was killed in a stabbing last week.

Police identified the victim as Zyana S. Corbin. An autopsy was conducted last week. Results are pending.

An online fundraiser endorsed by the police department lists her mother's name as Tiana, 27. It says she remains in intensive care with life-threatening injuries. She is pregnant.
Demetrius Williams says he stabbed his pregnant ex-girlfriend and killed her 3-year-old daughter because the woman didn’t want to be with him anymore.

Williams spoke with investigators for hours after he was treated at the hospital, eventually indicating that he knew he wanted to kill the woman and her daughter before he went to their apartment that night, according to a criminal complaint.

Sgt. Chue Thao of the Appleton Police Department testified Friday that he spoke with Williams for three or four hours on the night of the incident. Williams' demeanor during the interview was "calm, collected and intentional," Thao said.

"When asked why he attacked (the child), Demetrius said (the woman) and (her daughter) were very close and he knew that killing (the girl) would bring (the woman) great pain or hurt her a lot," the complaint says.

Williams and the woman told police in separate interviews that they met on Instagram and he moved from Minneapolis to Appleton last summer to be with her. He became angry when she began to distance herself from him, the complaint says.

Williams used pepper spray on the woman before he attacked her with two knives from her kitchen, the complaint says. She fled the apartment, only to realize Williams was left alone with her daughter. She tried to go back inside, but he had locked the door.

When police spoke with the woman, she indicated that she feared for her life during the attack, Thao said.

"She felt he was going to kill her," he said.

Williams described the motive behind his attack when he spoke with police that night, Thao said.

"He talked about happiness and freedom," he said. "By getting rid of them, he did not have to deal with them. He did not have to see them."

A police officer who went inside the apartment complex found the woman at the other end of the hallway, sobbing with a “significant amount of blood on her face,” holding a child — later identified as the 3-year-old — in her arms, the complaint says.

Williams ran to a nearby gas station and called 911 himself to report his attack, the complaint says. A police officer who responded saw Williams had blood on both his hands, several cuts to his right hand and a leg wound.

Williams' defense attorney, Robert Welygan, asked Gill to consider lowering Williams' cash bond, pointing out that he has no prior criminal record and has cooperated with the investigation.

Outagamie County District Attorney Melinda Tempelis argued against lowering Williams' cash bond, pointing out that Williams has limited ties to the area and should be considered a flight risk, while describing the crime as "cold and calculated."

Gill denied the request to lower Williams' cash bond.

A 26-year-old Appleton man was convicted Tuesday of killing a 3-year-old girl and wounding her pregnant mother.

Demetrius Williams pleaded no contest to two charges related to the violent attack: first-degree intentional homicide and attempted first-degree intentional homicide, according to court records. He also pleaded no contest to taking hostages in an attempted escape from the Outagamie County Jail.

Williams is scheduled to be sentenced March 26. He faces a mandatory life sentence on the homicide charge.

Mom left her baby in the apartment with this man while she fled.

Too bad baby girl could not flee from mom's bad choices.

I am sure this woman is grieving the loss of her daughter but will she learn anything is the question.

An Appleton man was sentenced to 45 years to life in prison Friday for stabbing a three-year-old girl to death a year ago and trying to kill her pregnant mother.

Demetrius Williams pleaded no contest earlier this year to 1st Degree Intentional Homicide and Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide. A charge of Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide of an Unborn Child was dismissed but read into the record as part of the plea agreement.

On February 26, 2020, police responded to a 911 call from Williams at an apartment on N. Kensington. They found Tiana Corbin and her daughter, Zyana Corbin, with severe cuts and covered in blood. Three-year-old Zyana was pronounced dead at the hospital. Tiana and her unborn child survived the attack.
Williams told a 911 dispatcher he went on a stabbing rampage. Authorities say he was upset that Tiana didn’t want to be with him any longer. When police asked Williams why he wanted to kill Tiana, he answered, “Freedom and happiness.”

Asked why he attacked the little girl, Williams said he knew “killing Zyana would bring Tiana great pain and hurt her a lot.”

The fucking monster should have been killed.
