Sentenced: Mac Henderson Told Detectives, "I Have Been Molesting Kids For A While”

The Caldwell Police Department in Caldwell, Idaho arrested a man for sexually assaulting two children.

Police arrested 58-year-old Mac William Henderson on two felony charges of lewd conduct with a child under the age of 16.

According to a press release from the Caldwell Police Department, Henderson allegedly sexually assaulted a boy and a girl over the course of many years, and in one of the cases, for over a decade.

The victims told police, the press release states, that Henderson would make them watch pornography, including child pornography, in addition to physically sexually assaulting them.

During a police interview with Henderson, according to the press release, Henderson initially denied the accusations but later told detectives, “I have been molesting kids for a while.”

The press release states Henderson went on to tell police, “This goes back years, I should have been taken back in the late 70s.”

Due to statements such as these made to investigators, police believe Henderson may have assaulted victims over the course of nearly 50 years.

A Caldwell man who admitted to police that he had been molesting children for decades is headed to prison.

Mac W. Henderson, 58, was sentenced to 25 years in prison, with at least 15 years before he will become eligible for parole.

He pleaded guilty in January to two counts of lewd conduct with a child, after a boy and girl told investigators that Henderson had sexually abused both of them for years, starting when they were about five years old. Both victims also told police that Henderson forced them to watch pornography - including child pornography - at his Caldwell home.

When detectives interviewed Henderson, he admitted molesting the boy and girl who came forward, and gave police another chilling confession.

"This goes back years, I should have been taken in back in the late 70's," he said, according to court documents. "I have been molesting kids for a while."

Prosecutor Bryan Taylor said in a statement after Henderson's sentencing that the long prison sentence handed down by Judge Christopher S. Nye was appropriate.

"Mr. Henderson used his position of authority to groom these two young victims and take advantage of them for his own sexual gratification," said Prosecutor Bryan Taylor. "And by his own admittance, this wasn't his first time. There is no doubt that he belongs in prison where he can no longer prey on young children."

In 15 years he will be in his early 70's which will still make him a danger to children.

While I want the children to heal and move on I hope they go to his parole hearing and remind the board what he did and for how long he did it.
