A police officer in Atlanta is accused of killing his Lyft driver after believing he was being kidnapped and recruited into a “gay fraternity,” according to authorities.
Police said Koby Minor told officers that 35-year-old Reginald Folks was driving him home from another police officer’s house when Minor began hearing an “unknown voice” in his ear. However, he never specified what the voices said.

Minor told police he thought Folks was speaking in an “unknown language.”

He then allegedly asked the rideshare driver to stop, but Folks proceeded on the route.
Minor said he tried to get out of the car at a red light at an intersection when Folks began to reach for the back seat.

Minor responded by firing three shots into the driver’s head, WANF reported.
The arrest warrants said Minor told police he believed Folks was in a “gay fraternity” and that Minor believed he was being kidnapped to be recruited into it.
Police arrested Minor, who had been with the police department for six years. At the time of arrest, he had been on unpaid administrative leave since December due to an unrelated arrest.

Minor was charged with murder and aggravated assault, and he resigned on Wednesday, WANF reported.

Koby you are now going to go to a Gay fraternity- prison

Oooohhhh, he had some nice tats.

As for Koby Minor could it be a psychotic break or did he just wanna kill somebody?
Psychotic break? Could be
Just want to kill someone? Could be that too-which is psychotic in it of itself
Afraid of his own deep seeded sexuality and had a psychotic break?

Any one of these sounds more plausible than he being kidnapped to be recruited into a gay fraternity. WHAT??!

RIP

A now-former Atlanta Police Department officer will spend nearly 30 years in prison after the deadly shooting of a Lyft driver last year.

Koby Minor, 34, had been charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the killing of 35-year-old Reginald Folks in May 2024.
He agreed to a plea deal in September, according to court record, which reduced the murder charge to voluntary manslaughter and merged the aggravated assault charge. He was given 20 years in prison on the voluntary manslaughter charge and merged aggravated assault charge, plus five years for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He also got four years in prison for drug possession and DUI in a separate case.

That amounts to 29 years in jail for the ex-APD officer.
