The faded striped socks on a woman whose legs were cut off below the knee, wrapped in cellophane and neatly packed into separate suitcases may provide the only clue to who she is. Her remains, and those of a dismembered man with a tattoo on what's left of his right forearm, were found in three muddy suitcases Monday and Tuesday in the Florentine hinterland below an overpass from which they were likely thrown.

Police originally thought the body parts were those of at least three victims, but in piecing the evidence together, they have a nearly complete corpse—without the head—of the man and most of the body of the woman. Police are now searching for a fourth suitcase that likely contains the woman's missing body parts which could help identify her or provide clues to who killed them.

An investigator with the Careggi Institute of Forensic Medicine investigative unit confirmed to The Daily Beast that they are working on the theory that the victims, who are white and appear to be between 40 and 60 years old, could be a couple. The location of the suitcases, some 100 meters apart, implies they could have been launched from a car moving slowly along the highway above, suggesting more than one person would have had to be involved. The macabre discovery was made by a 74-year-old retiree who was cutting weeds in a municipal garden. The land had been tilled in the spring, but the weeds had not been cut for two years, which means the suitcases could not have been there longer than that.

Police say that a couple who lived in the area disappeared in 2015, but the murders seem more recent than that. The couple’s son is in the nearby prison on drug charges and the daughter of the couple says she cannot be sure her father had a tattoo.

I mean somehow I don' think the son or daughter would have carefully dismembered their parents for several reasons...
1- if this girl cannot even be sure her father had a tattoo on his very visible arm, im thinking she isn't detailed enough to do this kind of chopping.
2- The son seems to lack the educational prowess to dismember his folks if he isn't even smart enough to get away with whatever crime he committed.

Basically im calling these kids too stupid to carefully dismember their parents. Dismemberment is a very intense, deliberate, planned out crime. You can hack for hours and hours with little progress if you use the wrong knife or cut across a thick bone....I hope this gets updates!

The Court of Cassation in Italy has upheld a 30-year prison sentence for 42-year-old Albanian Elona Kalesha, accused of killing her ex-partner's parents, a case that has lasted for years.
The event goes back to 2015, in Florence, when Sheptim and Teuta Pasho disappeared under unclear circumstances.

They had travelled to Italy to await the release of their son from prison, who at the time was in a relationship with Kalesha. Upon arrival, the family members lost all contact with them, which led to the denunciation of the disappearance by the couple's daughters.
For several years, the case remained without concrete developments, until the end of 2020, when investigators discovered the bodies of the dismembered victims and hidden in four suitcases, in an isolated area near the Sollicciano prison.

During the trial, the defendant has repeatedly denied involvement in the crime. However, according to the conclusions of the investigation, the Italian authorities considered him the key person after the murder. The prosecution has left open the possibility that the crime may have been committed with the help of another person, but so far no accomplices have been identified. With this final decision from the Cassation, the case is finally closed in the judicial plan.

In connection with the macabre murder of the Pasho couple from Vlora, who were found dismembered in 4 suitcases, 5 years after their disappearance, their son, Taulant Pasho, was also charged. His ex-girlfriend, Elona Kalesha, included his name in the claim that he had ordered the murder of his parents.
After investigations, the Florence court has declared the young man, who is behind bars for another criminal offense, that of escaping from prison, innocent.

Dorina Pasho, in an exclusive interview for the show 'With an Open Heart' on 'News24' told moderator Evis Ahmeti that this decision was a relief for the family. She said, among other things, that they had always believed that their brother was innocent, while adding that many people threw mud at his image.
