Police arrested Emilee Keith after her children were found running barefoot in the streets. She is facing a neglect charge.

They say her two 2-year-old children were wandering the neighborhood in damp and soiled clothing.

When police got to Keith's home, the back door was wide open.

Police also say the home was in a horrible condition. They say they found trash everywhere and animal feces on the ground.

When i was a kid, we all ran barefoot. No biggie.

But no one had trash and animal feces or feces of ant kind.
I am just amazed at how lazy do you have to be to leave animal shit on the floor. Having a zoo sometimes accidents happen and I have never stepped over the shit and said wow that adds to the room aesthetics.

Honestly I am not the world's biggest fan of housework but jeez pick up the trash and shit and run a vacuum around once a week. It doesn't take much.

Photos?

I remember an episode of Hoarders where they moved the fridge away from the wall and found a gooey black mess, mold on the wallpaper, and a couple of dead mice. Never wanted to mop my kitchen so badly as I did after seeing that.

And then there was the time a friend of mine moved into an absolutely trashed house, and spent the first month literally shoveling garbage into a dumpster.

Filth, especially with multiple kids involved, must be a sign of overwhelm and depression.

I couldn't. Yeah, things can be in a state of disarray at times around here, cause. 3 little ones.
My gosh, animal feces? I mean, how can you be okay with the smell? Furthermore, seeing it sitting there and letting your children walk around/on/in it. I'm just lost. Poor babies. I hope they learn cleanliness and hygiene from someone other than that slob of a mom.

Freaking gross! I, like a couple of you who have commented, am not a fan of cleaning! I have 2 kids, a dog who stays in the house most of the day, and an inside cat. My house isnt always spotless, but its not nasty. There is a difference between clutter and filth. The clutter would be the kids papers and things they bring home from school, a few toys that havent been put up yet, and maybe their shoes by the door. The filth is what I make damn sure is not in my house. The dishes get done in a timely manner, the trash gets taken out and the litter boxes are cleaned out daily. There wont be anything in here that would grow mold or stink! Thats just nasty!

Emilee Keith pleaded guilty to neglect of a dependent. She was sentenced to 450 days in jail, with the majority of the sentence suspended to supervised probation.
Neighbor Miranda Friend says she walked out of her Greensburg home last week and found the two 2-year-old kids in the street.

“There were no parents around so I grabbed them out of the road and moved them to the park. I tried to talk to them to find out their names and where their parents were. They could not really respond to me,” said Friend.
Friend says the kids were in bad shape, so she called 911.

“Their clothes were dirty. Both diapers were soiled really well and they did not have any shoes or socks on. Their feet and hands were cold and wet,” said Friend.

Officers say the kids were in the custody of their grandparents, but were being watched by their mom, 22-year-old Emilee Keith, at the time.
According to court documents, Keith thought her kids were still inside of her home, but when officers arrived, the back-door was wide open.

Officers say the conditions inside of the home were dangerous for toddlers. They found feces covering the floor, prescription medicines out in the open and believe the kids had been eating expired yogurt out of an animal food bowl.

“I did not want to let them go because who knew what situation they would end up back in,” said Friend.
