The Escambia County Sheriff's Office in Alabama arrested a man for trying to meet up with a minor for sex. He was also found with several drugs.
Blake Thomas Martin is charged with Electronic Solicitation of a Child, Traveling To Meet A Child For An Unlawful Sex Act, Unlawful Possession Of A Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession Of Marijuana 2nd, and Unlawful Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia. His bond was set at $500,000.
"During the investigation, law enforcement had received texts that were meant for an underage child," a release from the sheriff's office states. "Due to the nature of the texts, an undercover operation was conducted."
Deputies say Martin sent messages asking for sex and stated that he knew it was illegal to have sex with someone under age 16.
Last Friday, investigators posing as the child agreed to meet Martin for a sexual encounter. Martin arrived at the agreed location and was arrested by investigators.
"A search of Martins’ pockets revealed 3 condoms, one breath mint, one Viagra, marijuana, and one Oxycodone," a release states. "A search warrant was also executed at Martins’ residence where electronic devices and Methamphetamine was located and seized."
