Taylor police say a 7-year-old girl was fatally stabbed by her 13-year-old sister on Saturday afternoon.

Officials say they responded to a domestic dispute. When they arrived, they found the 7-year-old injured. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries, police say.
Police say the incident appears to have started as a domestic dispute.

The victim's 13-year-old sister was taken into custody.

A 13-year-old girl in Michigan was charged with murder this week in the fatal stabbing of her own 7-year-old sister
On Tuesday, the Wayne County Prosecutor's office in Michigan announced the charges against the 13-year-old girl following the stabbing incident in their home near Detroit. In a statement, the Wayne County Prosecutor's office did not release the identity of the 13-year-old girl but noted that she is being charged as a juvenile. The prosecutor's office also announced that the teenage girl is being charged with premeditated murder.
The two siblings reportedly began arguing after being left alone at their home in Taylor, Michigan, at around 11:15 a.m. local time on Saturday. According to authorities, the 7-year-old later went into the bathroom, where she was stabbed multiple times with a knife.
The 13-year-old reportedly called authorities immediately after the incident. The 7-year-old sister later died at the hospital after law enforcement officials responded to the home. The older girl is also facing charges of felony murder and first-degree child abuse.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy stated that while there was consideration of designating the 13-year-old as an adult, it is not the same as pursuing a criminal trial against her in adult court.

According to Worthy, designating the 13-year-old as an adult "gives the judge the option of sentencing the respondent as a juvenile, or as an adult or giving a blended juvenile sentence with an option of imposing an adult sentence if the juvenile is not rehabilitated."
However, Worthy noted that "our other option was to keep her in the juvenile system. We opted to do just that."

"Given her young age, the state would have seven years to diagnose, treat and rehabilitate her until her mandatory release at age 21," Worthy said. "Hopefully, then she would not be a danger to others."

During a preliminary hearing on Tuesday in juvenile court, the girl was ordered to remain in custody.

The heartbroken father of a 7-year-old Michigan girl who was allegedly stabbed to death by her 13-year-old sister while being babysat last month is opening up about his late daughter.

In an Oct. 4 interview with local TV station WXYZ, Jason Lilburn remembered his late daughter, Jessie Jane Lilburn, as someone who loved outdoor activities and playing with family.
“Little JJ, Jessie Jane. She was just a ray of sunshine, always wanted to be outside, always riding her bike,” Lilburn told the outlet.

The 7-year-old died at a local hospital on Sept. 28 after police officers responded to reports of a possible stabbing at a home in Taylor, Mich., a suburb of Detroit, at around 1 p.m., according to WXYZ, FOX 2 Detroit and CBS Detroit.
According to FOX 2 Detroit, authorities said the girls’ parents left their 7-year-old and 13-year-old daughters home at around 11:15 a.m. local time that day, and the older sister was babysitting.

Lilburn told WXYZ that the sisters had “normal sibling arguments” and no history of violence before the deadly incident, calling the killing, “totally unexpected.”

“It really pulls at my heart that [Jessie’s] not with us anymore and that there’s so much love for her,” Lilburn said of the memorial set up in front of his house for his late daughter, per WXYZ.

@the cat did it what do you think of this sentence?

I bet this individual, while wanted to be referred to as a he will be incarcerated in female prison spaces.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged a 13-year-old juvenile girl of Taylor, in connection with the fatal stabbing of her seven-year-old sister, also of Taylor. After the case was charged the juvenile’s preferred pronouns are he/him/his and he wished to be addressed by a male first name.
On September 28, 2024, at approximately 1:06 p.m., Taylor police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 14200 block of Banner Avenue for a reported stabbing. Upon their arrival, officers located the victim in the bathroom of the home, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Medics arrived on the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
At approximately 11:15 a.m., on September 28, 2024, the parents of the children left the house and had the juvenile respondent babysit for her seven-year-old sister. It is alleged that the juvenile and the victim had a verbal argument. After the verbal argument ended, it is alleged that the juvenile waited in the bathroom until the victim came in and stabbed her multiple times with a knife, fatally injuring her. After the attack the juvenile called 911.
On October 1, 2024, Judge Sheila Gibson remanded the juvenile at the preliminary hearing in the Lincoln Hall of Justice. On October 3, 2024, WCPO moved to amend the petition in the case and the juvenile was adult designated, which gives the sentencing judge the option of imposing a blended juvenile and adult sentence.

The juvenile was charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder, Felony Murder and Child Abuse First Degree. She pleaded guilty to First Degree Murder on May 15,2025.
Today, Judge Judy Hartsfield imposed a blended sentence with an Adult Sentence of 25 to 60 years and a Juvenile Sentence / Disposition of Level Two Secure Probation with a Step-Down program, followed by Community Supervision. The Court ordered a Psychiatric Evaluation, and the defendant must follow any recommendations for treatment. She was ordered to get a high school diploma.
The delayed/blended sentence allows the defendant to receive rehabilitation services via the Juvenile Justice System while reserving the Court’s ability to impose an Adult Sentence at some later date should it be determined that rehabilitation services have been unsuccessful. The Court enters an order delaying a term of incarceration and places the Defendant on “probation”. The Court specifies all terms and conditions of the defendant’s probation, which includes residential placement at a high secure setting, as well as mandated services to be rendered. The Court automatically maintains jurisdiction until age 19 and may extended jurisdiction at any time to age 21.
An adult term of incarceration may be imposed at any time as long as the defendant remains under its jurisdiction. The Court is mandated to revoke probation and impose an adult term of incarceration if the defendant is convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for more than 1 year, or adjudicated for an offense that, if committed by an adult, would be a felony or misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for more than 1 year.

The Court set the date of January 26, 2026, for a review hearing.

I don't care for this "sentence" at all. She planned it, she layed in wait and then "pounced" when the time was right and murdered her little sister, she knew what she was doing and did it with intent IMO. My youngest just turned 13-I could not imagine her doing this-and believe me she and her sister (15) get into BATTLES! WAR!! But no one is stabbing anyone. IK they are young and minds are still developing but this was an extreme act of violence that she PLANNED! It was not "in the heat of the moment". So if she stays out of trouble till at least 19/21 then she will not be incarcerated, IK she will be in a juvenile placement-sometimes they get worse in there. I just don't think the punishment fits the crime! I wonder does she truly regret her actions because she is sorry for what she did or because now she got in trouble? While I do hope she gets the proper mental help she needs, I am not crazy about the sentence!!! Wonder what her parents think?

Were the parents supportive of her transition from female to male and also was she on any puberty blockers?

I don't want to be so jaded to think that she did this so the state would entertain her transition and pay for it.

Good questions! I completely forgot about her wanting to be a he....and you never know if that was part of the motivation, we have read crazier motivations I think. I am pretty close w/ my girls (I like to think so lol) and we discuss the whole he/she thing alot because it seems like almost everyone they know wants to change their pronouns and it gets very very confusing-these kids change their Government names too (unbeknownst to the parents usually) and kids and TEACHERS will call the kids by what they prefer-he, him, them, their or a fucking cat- whatever! And then all of a sudden the girl you knew as Lilly all this time now wants to be called Charles?? It's hard to keep up w/ all of it! Both my girls think it's more like a "trend" for the majority, they find very few that are truly "trans" the rest are following a trend. It seems to be popular these days to be all over the place gender wise and sexually wise-and I Iive in the Bible belt and it runs rampant! lol I personally do not agree w/ messing with children's hormones-They should be adults before making such decisions to radically change their bodies. Some kids have grown up to regret it...

I wonder what parents think of her wanting to be a he? And when exactly did she decide she wanted to be a he???

And I wonder what they argued about.....
