Omaha police are on the scene of a death investigation involving a child.
One witness told KETV he and the mother rushed out of a beauty salon to a SUV and found the child inside.

CPR was performed, and the child was taken to the hospital.

He did not survive.

Omaha police said, the child was 5 years old and in foster care.

He was inside of the vehicle for "multiple hours," according to police.

The woman has not been charged they are waiting for the results of the autopsy.

Oh there will be a big payout to the birth family regardless of why the child was removed from them.

This woman needs to be named and prosecuted no one told her she had to become a foster parent.

And if for some reason she is not charged she should never be allowed to foster any more children.

Multiple hours in a beauty salon did not help you at all, you could have better spent your time down at the local bar as the main event in a mud wrestling contest.

Just why would you leave a child in a car for any reason?

Five-year-old Elias Dionicio Perez was exposed to the extreme heat for about seven hours while his adoptive mother went to the hairdresser, Nebraska.
Juanita Piñon, 40, according to Ohama police, left the child locked inside her car, in the parking lot.

She was arrested for child abuse by negligence resulting in death. It is being investigated whether the abandonment was accidental or intentional.

Little Elias was a girl's twin brother. Both were placed in foster homes, allegedly, because of the financial situation of their father, Pablo Perez.

The dad has financial issues but instead of helping him the state was giving money to this woman who neglected him to dead.

The boy's biological uncle questions if his death could have been prevented with better oversight.

Matthew Jessop says he didn't know the woman, now charged in the death of his 5-year-old nephew, had a criminal record until after the news broke.

"The reason why the death of my nephew happened is because of poor choices," Jessop said.
"Why would you leave a little kid in a car, you could bring them into your business. Why would you leave them in the car, it's like you don't even care," Jessop said.

Jessop says he has worried about the safety of his nieces and nephews since learning they were separated from each other in 2022, when Dionicio was placed with Pinon.

"Even though Juanita had power of attorney, there should have been more of a vet of her background and the history of my sister's poor judgment," Jessop said.
The grieving uncle is left angry and frustrated.

"If you cannot handle having my nephew in your custody, then you should have contacted the state and placed him in proper care," Jessop said.

So this was a kinship placement and in those they will overlook a criminal background if the case is not that serious.

The foster mother of a 5-year-old boy who died in Omaha after being left in an SUV for several hours has learned her sentence.

Juanita Pinon, 41, was sentenced to 6-10 years in prison with no parole in Douglas County District Court on Thursday. She pleaded “no contest” in January to one count of negligent child abuse resulting in death. But because of Nebraska’s good time law, she could be out in 3-5 years.

not only did she leave that poor child in a car for 7 hours but she never checked on him , gave him food, water, b/r breaks , exercises etc etc that is pure torture if you ask me but i am sure she had a break or 2, ate lunch, went to the bathroom and had something to drink during those 7 hours ... her sentence is a joke
