Four women were arrested for allegedly stealing laundry detergent, baby formula, and pregnancy tests from a CVS.
On June 29, Danielle Hardy, 19, Willandera Lofton, 21, Shi’neil Murray, 19, and Diamond Lofton, allegedly stole three 15 ounce bottles of Gain liquid laundry detergent, one box of Huggies baby diapers, and three Plan B emergency contraception pills from a CVS in Coral Springs, however, the location of the store has not been released.
Diamond Lofton also allegedly pepper-sprayed a man as they exited — although details were omitted from the report as to whether it was a CVS employee.
Coral Springs Police Department officers arrived on the scene at approximately 2:17 p.m., were informed of the theft, and put out a “Be On The Lookout” for the suspect’s tan four-door sedan with a temporary paper license plate.
Officer Harrison observed a gray Nissan speeding. He and his partner, Officer D’Agostinis, stopped the vehicle with four females in the car and an infant sitting on the lap of the front passenger.
According to the police report, they noticed a box of diapers between the legs of the front passenger, Diamond Lofton, along with a pink bottle of what appeared to be pepper spray. Officers also observed Gain laundry detergent and Plan B medication on the rear floorboard of the vehicle.
By approximately 4:58 p.m., officers were able to positively identify all four individuals in the vehicle with surveillance footage from CVS and witness statements to confirm they were the suspects involved in the theft.
According to statements from those in the store during the incident, Murray was pushing a cart with the merchandise out of the store with the infant, Diamond Lofton was seen wielding pepper spray, Hardy was carrying an unknown box of merchandise, and Willandera Lofton was driving the vehicle away from the scene of the crime.
The infant was identified as the daughter of Willandera Lofton. The father, Omarrie Goings, was called to pick up his daughter at the scene but was arrested for an alleged outstanding warrant. Goings’ mother, the paternal grandmother of the baby, was then notified and took custody of the child.
Detective Randazzo was called in to interview the suspects. Hardy admitted threatening one of the witnesses with pepper spray if they touched her while she was holding stolen merchandise. Willandera Lofton said she was aware that Hardy, Murray, and Diamond Lofton had taken the items when they entered the vehicle. Murray claimed in a statement that Diamond Lofton and Hardy were carrying pepper spray on them when they fled the store.
Diamond Lofton refused to give a statement but was identified as the suspect who allegedly pepper-sprayed a victim during the theft.
