"Sara Searer, 29, was charged with domestic aggravated assault and domestic aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
Daniel Hobert told deputies Searer pointed a gun at his face before stepping outside and firing the gun during an argument early on June 22, according to the arrest affidavit.
During an argument in Hobert's truck later that same day, Hobert told deputies, Searer pulled a machete from between the seats, stabbed the keyhole of Hobert's console and swung the machete at him.
Outside of the truck, Searer hit Hobert with the machete, causing two superficial cuts on his left arm. Searer then picked up an ADT yard sign, hitting Hobert with it and causing a wound on his left hand.
Hobert had injuries consistent with his statements, deputies said.
"Daniel said he was in fear for his life when Sara pointed the gun at him, as well as when she was swinging the machete and cut him," the affidavit states.
Hobert told deputies he was dating Searer and they had lived together in the past, along with Searer's children. The children were present at the time of the arguments, according to the affidavit."
