Police say Nicole Boodhai, 28, has been arrested and charged with murder and endangering the welfare of a child.
Meanwhile, ABC 7 Eyewitness News reported that responding officers found 15-month-old Charlie Ramraykha unconscious and unresponsive, and his 28-year-old mother with slash wounds to her wrists. There was no blunt force trauma to his body, and the medical examiner is expected to determine the cause of his death.
EMS transported both victims to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center where Ramraykha was pronounced deceased. Boodhai is expected to recover.
