Steam Post Trauma

Yeah. It's good how these indie developers put soul into these games. Capcom just made a mockery of Resident Evil with that Village shit back in 2021. The game was a bizarre cut-and-paste job of RE4.

You know? They also tried to copy the Silent Hill games with these creepy mannequins that move around in the dark. They were just imitating the nurses. The protagonist Rosemary is pretty much a carbon copy of Heather Mason, who was also reborn and got chased by a cult who required her for some similar reason, and I felt as if the dollmaker's house was basically a copy of the P.T. house.

I mean, Capcom has copied other games in the past as well. I had proof to display and everything a few years ago. But sad people are sometimes just too loyal for their own good. And while I still like to spread awareness about Capcom, I kind of lost motivation because I kept getting typical results from a lot of daft users on GameFAQs, or some other crappy community that is too stupid to understand plagiarism. Not to mention how many forums outwith NeoGAF and all that are essentially dead in 2024.

But of course, fanboys on forums like Reddit, GameFAQs and so on seldomly feel compelled to admit that members like me are correct, even though I can post a rant describing this stuff, followed by video proof. They still feel like it's okay to damage control with their mental gymnastics, or refute these obvious facts. But you know how it is. The truth must hurt these people.

Like, I recall a Dutch filmmaker called out Capcom. Other people did too, but this guy basically seen that they ripped off a creature in a movie that he designed. One that uses a spinning fan for a face. And it was hunting people in a similar environment. And he didn't pursue a lawsuit. He could have. But one person actually did. She noticed they cut and pasted her artwork on to doors in the earlier games. They even had the same file names, with evidence provided to show that they were stolen. So she demanded compensation.

It's just lame how Capcom does this repeatedly and gets all these sheep online thinking they're this brilliant company. But these indie games have better quality, and people just overlook them because it's not a triple A title, so they must immediately assume it will be trash. Or they choose to bash Bloober Team and Konami, even though the reaction that most people gave to the official Silent Hill 2 remake trailer a few weeks ago was really positive.

It's a no brainer that the game will probably end up getting a low score for the dumbest (false) reasons, instead of actual reasons of the game itself. Then the franchise will be dead for another lengthy period, all due to that slander.

Anyway, I just had to say it. Capcom aren't the same company today that they were in the early 2000s. But of course, the sheepfold will say the RE2 remake is amazing, even though it has the same amount of cut content as RE3. But even so. They always choose to mock RE3, when RE2 had similar issues. So this is kind of hypocritical.

So yeah. What can I say? We have about another whole month to go until the game comes out. But I bet you that even if it's faithful and everything fans want, a particular range of zealots are still gonna upload rant videos on YouTube harping on about it being this, this and this.

At least offer up some genuine criticism that is valid. Come the fuck on.
