"The shooting occurred around 9:45 p.m. June 8 at 13068 S. Ellis Ave. in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood, police said. The suspect was identified as a man wearing a white or light-colored hoodie with red shoes. He was armed with a handgun.
When police responded to the scene, Jeremiah James, 15, and a 19-year-old man were found outside with gunshot wounds, police said.
They were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where James was pronounced dead at 10:25 p.m. due to a gunshot wound of the neck, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. His death was ruled a homicide.
The 19-year-old man was in fair condition with a gunshot wound to the leg, police said."
