Kiely Rodni was last seen around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday at a party involving about 100 "juveniles" and young adults near the Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, California, according to a press release from the Placer County Sheriff's Office.

Rodni's vehicle, a silver 2013 Honda CRV with the California license plate "8YUR127," is also missing, which led police to start investigating her disappearance as a possible abduction, KCRA reported.

Rodni's friend Sami Smith told CBS Sacramento that she was with Rodni for most of the party and said that Rodni was planning on spending the night at the campground.

"I know that she wasn't in the right mindset or state to drive. And if she were to have driven, she wouldn't have made it far," Smith told CBS Sacramento. "So my concern is that somebody might have offered to drive her home and then didn't take her home."

On Sunday night, the Placer County Sheriff's Office posted a video of Rodni's mother making an impassioned plea to the public for help locating her daughter.

"We just want her home. We're so scared, and we miss her so much, and we love her so much," Lindsey Rodni-Nieman said in the video through tears.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office did not immediately return Insider's request for an update on the case Monday morning.

Rodni is described as a Caucasian female who is 5'7" tall, 115 pounds, with blonde hair and hazel eyes. She has numerous piercings and jewelry, including a nose ring, the sheriff's office said. She was last seen wearing green Dickie's pants and a black tank top.

I camp at Prosser almost every night during the summer with my kids… The one night I didn’t. A lot of speculation is that she was taken and maybe by a group of people. Someone knows something… She’s not lost.

It’s a really scary thought that staying out there one of my kids could just be plucked right out of reach while sleeping.

As the FBI announced Thursday that it was adding 16-year-old Kiely Mai Rodni to its national missing persons database, the search for the girl—who was last seen five days ago at a campground senior farewell party—continued in earnest.

It’s unclear if Kiely ever made it home from the party at the Prosser Family Campground in the early hours of Saturday morning, according to Placer County authorities. She had texted her mother, Lindsey Rodni-Nieman, from the campground saying that she would be heading home soon. “I told her to be safe and that I loved her. And she said, ‘OK, mom, I love you, too,’” Rodni-Nieman told ABC News on Tuesday. “She never came home.”

In a Thursday press conference, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said that more than 500 tips had been called in since Saturday—including from people outside California—and that investigators were following up on more than 380 leads. Despite a massive effort that now includes 16 agencies and the federal authorities, according to Captain Sam Brown of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, “we are still lacking clues.”

Brown explained investigators and volunteers still didn’t have “an exact spot” around which to pinpoint a search radius, which was “unusual, especially with a large object like a car,” meaning Rodni’s 2013 Silver Honda CRV, which remains missing.

“Solely” because of the missing vehicle, investigators are treating Kiely’s vanishing as a potential abduction, according to Angela Musallam of the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.

Jagger Westfall, Rodni’s boyfriend, told Fox40 on Thursday that he’d texted her to “be safe” and “don’t, like, do anything stupid” just before she left for the Prosser Family Campground.

“I definitely feel like that in this current situation that she’s safe,” Westfall said. “I don’t know where she is. We don’t have anything to go off of at this point. But, I fully believe that she’s alive and well.”

Others close to Kiely don’t believe she ran away. Rodni-Nieman told The Independent that there had appeared to be “nothing out of the ordinary” with her daughter the morning of the party; a friend, Kate Cuno, told Fox40 that they had made crème brûlée hours before. “Everything was normal,” the teenager said.

Hebel told the Beast that there were few concrete details she could share on the ongoing search, but added, “There’s hope on the ground, and we’re continuously talking about how we want this miracle. But we just keep moving forward… Any minute, right? Any minute.”

New footage of missing California teen Kiely Rodni emerges as cops reveal last cellphone ping

Missing California teenager Kiely Rodni was wearing an “Odd Future” sweatshirt at a campground party the night she vanished — as authorities revealed her cellphone last pinged near a lake.

The 16-year-old has been missing for more than a week after she was last seen at an end-of-school party near Prosser Family Campground in Truckee, just north of Lake Tahoe, in the early hours of Aug. 6.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday it’s found footage of Rodni early on at the party wearing a pink and white sweatshirt with “Odd Future” — the name of a hip-hop band — emblazoned across it.

It wasn’t clear if Rodni was still wearing the sweatshirt when she went missing, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities revealed last week that Rodni had also borrowed another hoodie at the party — with the Lana Del Ray lyrics, “You don’t want to be forgotten, you just want to disappear” scrawled across it.

Attention has again turned to the immediate area after a couple was found in their wrecked car that had slid down an embankment. It is disappointing that time has been lost due to LE declaring that entire area cleared. This discovery also brings accidental death back into focus after the speculation about abduction and trafficking. I'm wondering why FLIR equipped drones can't be deployed.

Divers find body and car in search of missing California teen Kiely Rodni

TRUCKEE, Calif. — Divers searching for missing California teen Kiely Rodni said they have discovered a body and car in the reservoir near where she was last seen more than two weeks ago.

A dive crew found what they believe is the 2013 Honda CRV that Rodni, 16, drove to a graduation party near the lake out of Prosser Creek Reservoir Sunday afternoon.

Police could not immediately identify the body. A spokeswoman for Rodni’s family said they had not confirmed the body was the teen’s.

The Placer County Sheriff, California Highway Patrol and Truckee Police are on site with a flatbed tow truck and two police divers have suited up.

Rodni was last seen at the park in Truckee, California on Aug. 6. Fellow party-goers had reported that she had been drinking at the party.

Dive crew Adventures With Purpose was recruited by law enforcement for the probe and began searching the reservoir Sunday.

The Oregon-based crew of six divers gave it another go in hopes of finding any sign of Rodni, after at least three police dive teams have already searched the reservoir.

The divers searched nearly every body of water near Truckee, CA before probing the water closest to where the party was held one last time.

The team had been assured by law enforcement on the ground that the body of water had already been searched thoroughly, but decided to check again.

“Police told us they did a rigorous search of this body of water,” diver Josh Cantu, 31, said. “They gave us a grid map and made us confident we didn’t need to search here.”

Within a few minutes of diving, one of the team members, Nick Rinn, 48 found a body in a car close to shore.

This is unbelievable.

A team of divers who made a significant discovery in the search for missing Californian teen Kiely Rodni have said police told then not to bother looking where a car and body were found.

On Sunday, the diving group Adventures With Purpose said it had found an upturned vehicle about 14 feet underwater at Prosser Creek Reservoir, near to where the 16-year-old was last known to be.

Josh Cantu, Adventures a for the diving group With Purpose, told The New York Post: “Police told us they did a rigorous search of this body of water. They gave us a grid map and made us confident we didn’t need to search here.”

Within minutes the diving team entering the water however, the car and body were found.

“I went down and did my inspection,” diver Nick Rinn added in comments to the Post. “I saw the vehicle upside down, verified the license plate and that there were remains in the vehicle. Then I came out, we called the family and authorities and let them take it from there.”

The finding came on the third day of the volunteer search and rescue team’s efforts at the lake in California, where police have spent more than two weeks looking for Ms Rodni after her disappearance from a party on 6 August.

Body found in reservoir is that of missing teen Kiely Rodni

An autopsy has confirmed that the body found in the Prosser Reservoir on Sunday is that of California teenager Kiely Rodni, the Placer County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

"The Placer County Sheriff’s Office and the Nevada County Sheriff's Office are in communication with Kiely’s family and offer our deepest condolences to them during this extremely difficult time," the office wrote on Facebook. "This is an ongoing investigation, and no other information is available at this time."

The link includes interesting remarks from a witness named Nick who said he encountered her with a male needing assistance with her car. He said the whole interaction was really weird.

there's some info in here about Nick, he is a AAA driver called to help a boy and girl get keili's car started, they didn't know it wouldn't start because it was in neutral, seems w The description of the boy was dead on for keili's ex, Jagger. Weird for the owner of the car not to know it was in neutral. So yeah circumstances are really suspicious.

This one is driving me crazy due to all of the speculation and not really knowing what is true and what is not. A lot of people have gotten involved and a lot of them don't know jack about handling true crime stories.

Not sure if this was covered in any of the posted videos. They released the diver's video where he says:

"“I see a pair of shoes in the back … I have just confirmed there are human remains in the vehicle,” Rinn said over his radio headset to fellow team member, Doug Bishop, who manned the sonar above the water. “The passenger window is broken out, it appears. Rear driver side window is halfway down.”

One of the videos I have watched, probably True Crime Rocket Science, he felt that passenger side window would've been a better target than the driver's side due to needing to use her legs and feet. The rear window that was halfway down may have already been down.

I hope we eventually will find out exactly what happened to poor Kiely. Due to my own poor organizing, I've lost track of the various videos that provided slivers of what might be the truth. The Truckee community appear cult-like and uncooperative as do the law enforcement agencies. There was a huge life insurance policy on Kiely with her parents as beneficiaries. There's a large reward that no one wants to dole out apparently, and AWP may have to sue to get what is rightfully theirs. There's another video I wanted to post that had what I think is a very good theory about what really happened, but I think I watched it on the iPad, because I cant find it on my YouTube history on my phone. I'll check the iPad tonight.

This one is about the reward flap.

Now I remember what was in that video that I'm having trouble finding. Speculation was that she was too impaired to drive and was going to park somewhere away from the crowd and ended up on that beach. When she got into the back to sleep, she accidentally kicked it into neutral and then it rolled down the incline and into the water. It's still just unbelievable that local LE didn't follow normal procedure when they pulled it out, letting whatever possessions were in the car fall out onto the bottom of the lake. The one YouTuber went there and saw that stuff under the water and couldn't get LE to come get it. None of this is making any sense. No one seems to know what happened to Kiely's phone either.

Despite the oddities and no water found in her lungs, Kiely's death has been ruled an accident. While I don't think it was murder, I think there was more to the story than we've been told. If I find a good video wrap-up, I'll post it. It looks like AWP made plenty of money from their videos, so I doubt they'll pursue the reward in court.
