Henry Pacheco seemed to have wanted to help the most vulnerable in our society. For the last 30 years he had done just that as a social worker in the state of Virginia. Henry even opened his home to children whose family were having issues. Problem was, one of the girls he allowed to stay in his home found hidden cameras in places where the girl would be undressed.

Eventually, the girl informed the authorities of Henry's clandestine hobbies and the police, warrant in hand, searched his residence and discovered the girl was not a little liar.

..... Fairfax County Police arrested 64-year-old Henry Pacheco for multiple felonies after a victim came forward.

Police say on August 23, the victim reported the unlawful filming that happened several years ago. The victim told investigators that they met Pacheco 10 years ago when he was providing services to the victim's family member as a social worker. Detectives believe Pacheco was grooming the victim's family by offering vacations, gifts, and his home for shelter.

The victim told detectives that there were three occasions where she found hidden recording devices in the bathroom and bedroom of Pacheco's home while she was in various stages of undress. She was a juvenile at the time of the offenses.

Police executed a search warrant on Pacheco's home earlier this week and recovered multiple pieces of electronic and digital evidence.

Police arrested Pacheco and charged him with two counts of unlawful filming of a minor, and one count of attempted unlawful filming of a minor. ..... https://wjla.com/news/local/social-worker-arrested-for-filming-a-minor-police

Damn! It's always sad and maddening when a pillar of the community who did "so much good over so many years" ends up having committed a grotesque betrayal of trust, or otherwise awful deed. It makes me wonder if his good works and his socially helpful career was all done with ulterior motives in mind. It makes me wonder if he had come in with good intentions, and had lived up to these intentions genuinely, but then became corrupted after being in too deep. Sad.

I want to believe he started in social work with the best intentions, but when he discovered he could feed his perversion he took a chance.

Basically, he failed the test, he didn't take the high road, like Gandalf did when Frodo offered him the One Ring.
